Chalet Lanes & Lounge — Restaurant in Wisconsin Dells

Honestly if I could rate this place with less than 1 star I would. The moment my family and I arrived, the girl behind the counter whos name is Claire I believe, was extremely rude. She rolled her eyes several times while we were trying to do a head count and figure out payment. I have worked in customer service for years and when you deal with customers you need to have some sort of personality, and I'm not saying she had to be my friend and laugh. I'm talking basic people skills, basic communication. I was under the impression she was a young teenager, and I get not having experience, that's one thing, but to be blatantly rude is another. At one point, several of the children were playing games in the arcade they had, and the machine kept taking the money but not actually letting them play. So a couple of them went up to the counter to speak with this young lady Claire, and she literally rolled her eyes at them as if it was their fault that the machine didn't work. Not to mention the fact she was on her phone the entire time and seemed visibly annoyed when she was interrupted. Not okay. And at one point in the beginning of the game, my family and I realized the floor, where we walk (not the lane foe the ball) was very slippery and dangerous as several of us almost fell while walking to the lane. So I had asked Claire to see if there was anything we could use to wipe up the floor to make it less slippery and she glared at me as if I were speaking another language and told me the floor is supposed to be slippery even after I explained I was talking about the area we WALK on, which is NOT supposed to be slippery, there are people holding heavy balls with shoes that have zero traction. We had such a lovely time at Chalet Lanes during our trip to Wisconsin Dells! We actually visited twice because we enjoyed it so much. The first time, we stopped in on a weekday for a couple of drinks and some arcade games. The atmosphere was chill and relaxed, not overly crowded, and we had a great time playing darts. The bartenders were friendly and made good drinks.

Our second visit was on a weekend night, and we decided to go bowling. The lanes have a retro, old-school vibe -- like stepping back in time, I loved it! It gave the place so much character. The music was fun, the food was good, and overall, we had a blast. The staff member who helped us at the lanes was kind, though later in the night it did take a bit of time to find someone to extend our bowling since the bar was busier. Totally understandable, though, given how lively the place was.

Fun place to bowl good food but the younger female with the hat working the bar on Friday oct, 13 , 2023 was very very rude didn’t want to take food order and didn’t want to take correct drink orders from my family , I had the guy behind the bar with perfect service the whole night but the female was very rude and not seeming like she wanted to be working there definitely was a mood killer for family at times when we asked for a coke in a can like I previously did with the guy she said she didn’t want to get them and they only have Pepsi .
