My husband booked this “cabin” for us as it was our anniversary. We were looking for a cabin in Amish country. He looked at several places and settled on the “Serenity”. There were several cabins nearby, but this was a motel that appeared to have been converted into a confusing rustic, barn, seaside motif place. I don’t want to completely downgrade the place considering there were some perks to staying there and that’s why I actually gave it 3 stars. The shower floor was black from prior use, the jetted tub shot mold/mildew at us from not being cleaned, there were plenty of signs that said to clean up after yourselves and they included cleaning supplies within the unit to do so, and the cleaning person left an envelope with her Venmo information on it which I found unconventional considering we did most of our own cleaning before departure. The noise from other customers was also definitely a nuisance. There was three extra doors in the room with locks on them that we had no idea what they were for- it was also kind of eerie to see that- and not knowing what was on the other side. The bed didn’t provide any comfort for sleep even though we had plenty of space to move around or snuggle. Parking was a little wonky too if you didn’t drive a compact car, we had a pickup and had another vehicle park close to us- which left us no choice but to completely backup towards the end of the driveway. Here are some positive things: there was some kitchen supplies, ie. Dawn dish soap and washcloths, a microwave, small refrigerator, coffee pots, a toaster, plates, utensils, cups, and a mixing bowl that could be utilized. There was plenty of furniture to sit and eat or enjoy a book or game. We were blessed with toilet paper and paper towels. The TV had YouTube tv- my husband couldn’t figure out how to use it though, got frustrated, and relied on me to find things to watch. The fireplace worked so well that we only had it on for about 5 minutes before shutting it down because of how hot the room got. There really was mixed feelings of good and bad. If you want a cabin, don’t go with this particular place. If you want a motel room, this...
Read moreWe stayed in the Pine suite lodge room. The biggest issue, as I don't appreciate being lied to or deceived, was the False advertising.... To start with, the room was advertised as having a "private porch overlooking the countryside", this couldn't have been further from the truth. The "private porch" was so close to the next unit we could've reached out and touched one another, and the "countryside" view is of the parking lot and Road, there is absolutely nothing pleasant or serene about it. The room is nothing more than a hotel room, people above and on both sides, it is not well insulated and you can hear every movement from above units, which in our case was all night long. On the inside there were 2 piles of dirt, that seemed to Have been left behind by housekeeping, so we swept them up with a dust pan and disposed of them. The shower curtain had a large stain on it that appeared to be mold/mildew. The bed was horribly uncomfortable, and extremely hard/stiff and difficult to get a night's rest. The positives to this unit were the ease of check in and check out, and it's close proximity to town. If you're looking for hotel setting this unit would suffice, but if you want peace and quiet and beautiful country setting this may not be the best option. Edit: After the fact blessings lodge reached out to us and was very willing to work with us on the issues. Their customer service was outstanding and worked to resolve the issues and are hopefully updating the description on the website so as not to mislead...
Read moreOur family stayed in the Homestead cabin. Overall, we had a positive experience. It is spacious, and fairly comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace. The kitchen is decently stocked with cookware, dish ware, utensils, etc. We didn’t cook anything while there for one night though. The cookies left for us were a nice surprise. ||The jacuzzi is roomy enough for two and the upstairs bathroom that it is in is quite large. The jacuzzi has one jet that is extremely noisy and the floor around/under the jacuzzi creaked and cracked after use, even when you left the bathroom. This bathroom offered a bar of soap. The downstairs bathroom only offered a bottle of thin hand soap. Please note that there are no toiletries provided in any of the bathrooms. Our daughter stayed downstairs and showered with no soap, shampoo or conditioner. Make sure you bring your own! ||The cabin has one small tv in the living room and none in the bedrooms. We didn’t mind, but others might. ||We all found the mattresses to be uncomfortable. (Too hard). Loved the rocking chair in the bedroom upstairs. We didn’t use it, but there is outdoor seating on both levels of the porch. ||The cabin is located in a...
