My husband and I are very well travelled and have stayed in accommodations from inexpensive to elite. We paid $930.44 to stay in the Village Dream for 2 nights. That is $465.22 per night, which I start to rank as a higher end accommodation. While the overall immediate impression was not bad, it did not take long to be disappointed, particularly in the kitchen. We had 4 corkscrews ( nobody needs more then 1) but did not have scissors, a vegetable peeler or potato masher. The pizza pan and the cookie sheet under the oven were disgustingly dirty and the cookie sheet should have been replaced. There was no scouring pad to clean the dishes. The measuring cup I had leaked when I put liquid in it and then I saw it had been taped on the bottom ( you can get a new one at the dollar store for $1.00). The dishes and the cutlery were not all clean and the dishes and pans looked like a hodgepodge collection from a flea market somewhere. We did not have enough drinking glasses for everyone, the light in the fridge was burnt out as were two lights in the sitting area. The water in our bathroom facets, tub, sink came out brown, eventually cleared but did not make us feel comfortable with the water. While the mattress in the master bedroom was comfortable enough, the bed frame, obviously built from plywood did not fit our mattress. Our pillows kept falling behind our heads as there was a large gap at the head and also at the foot of the bed.||These may all sound like minor things and we would probably have been much less upset by this if we had paid less for this. Our original booking which we had to cancel due to Covid was $450.00 for 2 nights. They have more then doubled their price in two years but done no changes in that room to warrant the price increase. If you want to charge premium prices then give premium accommodations.||Furthermore, I have replied to their request as to why I was not satisfied and they have yet to...
Read moreWe stayed in the Red Fern Cabin. Very nice cabin rental - comfortable and very clean. Beautiful inside and everything is in great condition. The décor is amazing and the cabin provides plenty to do without having to leave. There is a beautiful fireplace and cozy rustic furniture with a big screen TV - (if you like to watch TV while on vacation...), a full-size pool table, foosball table, and an "old-school" video game with multiple games - inside. Outside there is a beautiful private hot-tub next to a great patio with a fire pit.
Awesome place! The bathrooms are very - very nice! One has a beautiful garden tub and separate shower, and a huge sink area with very unique rustic counter space and a very cool carved rock basin. The other bathroom is also very cool with its wine barrel doorway and pebble floor shower, and copper sink! The kitchen is amazing - lots of counter space to work, full size refrigerator/freezer, Full-size electric stove & oven, beautiful huge window above the sink with a motorized blind. A fabulous little side porch off the kitchen that shelters you from the weather, but allows you to be outside.
A parking area right outside the main door of the cabin, that is secure and private to this cabin.
Although this place is 5 star worthy - I had to take away a star because they boast a "full kitchen", but fail to note that there is only 1 rack inside the oven - which made it difficult to manage a full meal, the pots & pans situation leaves a lot to be desired, there is no dishpan, and only 1 dishtowel & dish rag. Be sure to bring these items to make your stay much for comfortable and easy. However, it's such a nice place, we plan to visit again in 2018 - but will bring more kitchen stuff with...
Read moreBeautiful cabin, stayed at the largest 1 (Red Fern) sleeps 10. 3 different sleeping areas that all have tv's (1 Full, in the master bedroom & 4 Queen beds (1 in the loft & 3 in the basement/game room. Very roomy inside with a kitchen that has all the pots/ pans & utensils, dining room with a good sized table & a kitchen bar area. Big fridge, oven & microwave. Living room has 2 couches & 2 chairs & a fireplace. Housekeeping cleans up everyday between 10am & 3pm. Awesome Amish shops either direction within 5-15 minutes, great food everywhere that we have tried. Hot tub & fire pit area outside. Absolutely awesome cabin that I will definitely bring my family back too. I'd give this 5+ stars if that was a option & i highly highly recommend & suggest when planning a trip to this area book a reservation & stay here, Awesome, beautiful place. My only complaint is that the WI-FI that they offer did not work almost at all & when asked about it they told us to use Waterlily cabins instead of Redfern because they have the same passcode; that did not work either, so the WI-FI that that they mention for using Netflix that they provide is in actuality non-existent ( but except for really the kids & their gadgets it wasn't anything too bad). Just an FYI...
