I'd give it 5 stars except for some points that would like addressed by the owner/manager. First, we took the suite on the 11th floor to enjoy the view (the view on the rooms that face the back of the hotel is kind of depressing with lots of buildings surrounding the hotel , far from the glamour of the hotel. We asked for an additional towel as the room was setup for two people and we were 3) they took nearly 2 hours to bring them (we even offered to pick it up ourselves) Second, the parking was inoperative due to a malfunction of the car elevator, this was not mentioned when we called before placing the reservation. Third, on weekend night a motorcycle gang like to hang around late by night across the street on the rambla with the sole.purpose of using their exhaust as noisemakers, had to call the front desk at 3am for them to call the police and force the gang to leave the place. Having said all the bad things, the Hotel is very modern, opened 3 years ago, it caters mainly to business travelers. The front desk was super friendly and professional,. Rooms are well kept and meticulously cleaned. The Hotel is located in a nice area with several restaurants and a shopping mall at walking distance. The breakfast is super awesome with lots of fruit, juices and a variety of home made breads, Be advised that breakfast is not normally included in the room price and has a price tag of U$S 22 (if I...
Read moreNice hotel with a beautiful decoration. Room is very spacious and it has a good shower facilities and a Japanese toilet . Only problem about the room is the acoustic isolation. There was constant noise of people walking and talking late at night and that was annoying, I understand this is not exactly the hotel's fault but it was something that rally bothered us. Staff was ok. The only person that was super friendly was the bartender. All the other people we spoke at the check in counter and the restaurant (Breakfast) were very neutral. Nothing to complain about them but nothing to praise either. The reason we chose Montevideo and the Costanero Hotel was to celebrate my wife's birthday. I informed the hotel (by e-mail) about it and got a reply saying they would make a note and take it into consideration but when we arrived nothing was really done about it. I understand the hotel has no obligation at all in giving something extra to guests on birthdays but it is needless to say that it is a common practice to at least say something when the guest arrives or leave a card with good wishes inside the room. We have spent many birthdays in different hotels in different countries and this is the first time this situation was completely ignored. I think this situation shows my feeling about my experience at the Hotel Costanero. it was not a bad stay, but it wasn't anything special. It...
Read moreI stayed at Hotel Costanero as the first stop of a birthday trip. ||The good: The deluxe suite probably had more storage space than any hotel room I've ever stayed in, and the views across Pocitos Beach and the city beyond were fantastic. The hotel bar staff were friendly and the few food items I ordered were delicious. Hotel Costanero has a great location just across the street from the beach and within walking distance to some decent bars and restaurants. Being able to view sunsets from the balcony was the cherry on top!||The bad: I found the staff at the front desk to be mostly indifferent. When checking in, at least two male staff members just stared, didn't try to hold open any doors for guests, didn't try to explain or apologize for the long delay while checking in, and generally didn't show they cared. The one female staff member at the front desk was more helpful and responsive to our needs. However, despite knowing I was there for a birthday, I got a simple "Happy Birthday" said to me when I was checking out. ||Overall, those issues didn't impact my stay much, and the people I interacted with outside of the front desk—the bar staff, housekeeping, etc.—were very pleasant. Given the views and the room itself, I'd definitely...
