Burlesque — Restaurant in Montevideo

Our restaurant experiences in Uruguay have been very positive so far with two exceptions - one spot in Punta del Este and this restaurant. If you care about fresh food ( I mean literarily not old ingredients) do not visit Burlesque. The location is great and convenient, drinks good and prices affordable. However, it is absolutely unacceptable to serve old dairy products!!! My mom ordered veggie tacos and took one bite saying she could not eat her food as something was bothering her. I offered to swap plates as I am not a picky eater at all. I took a bite of her veggies inside the taco and after about 2 bites realized the melted cheese(sauce) is off. We did not touch the food thereafter leaving 2 out of 3 tacos untouched. The waiter came to collect plates and my sister who speaks Spanish explained what the issue was. There were no “sorry” or questions asked plus we were charged the full price for these old tacos. That is why I am giving 1 star. If the staff would have acknowledged the issue and apologized I would not mind paying full price (food was used to cook the tacos) nor would I post the review knowing they would remove the bad ingredients from their kitchen. Went on a Wednesday evening for dinner, service was the worst and the food was horrible. Very less crowd, still we had to remind every 15 mins that we ordered something. Be it a drink or food, out of 5 dishes ordered, only 3 came to table and then we have to reorder the remaining 2 dishes or drinks since they totally forgot that we ordered 5 dishes initially.

When you place an order for a Cocktail, you will get a different one, none of the ingredients you ordered will be there. But they still convince that it’s our order.

Burlesque is and has been one of my personal favourite places to dine, for quite some time now. Unfortunately, the prices have gone up quite fast, but it's still a great place to go out with friends, a date, or even with your family. Their drinks are good, the waiters really friendly and the food is really good. Plenty of options in the menu, for both drinks and dishes. A good place for a burger and a craft beer, in a good location and with a good atmosphere / vibe. Making a reservation won't hurt, but the waiting is not excessive if you're...
