Hotel Viewport — Hotel in Montevideo

We stayed two nights here with an online offer so it's was an ok price but if you pay the normal rate it's so overpriced! Don't expect a 3 stars hôtel it's no more than a budget one.||The maintenance of the room is minimal, dust in all the corners, mould in the shower, dirty walls, broken sink and trash can, ants in the bathroom, no cold water and bad smell in the bathroom...|The corridor and the reception look nice but the decoration of the room is bad, if you pay the normal price (110USD a double room in August 2015) it's totally disappointing.|Even worst the first morning the cleaning lady knocked for five minutes at the door at 8:30am to ask if we wanted cleaning...we said no as we where still sleeping and she didn't come back later, no one make the bed or empty the trash can (it's supposed to be a 3 stars hotel).|We also had a problem with the payment, we paid the 66USD the day before leaving as we had to catch a bus at 5.30am |Just before leaving at 5.15 the receptionist said that we paid only 63 USD so that 3 where missing...We didn't have time to argue so we paid but it's really weird, almost dishonest, we ask to paid the totality but the receipt said 63USD (so illogical, why would we let those 3 dollars to be paid the next day).|The only good thing is the convenient localisation so at the end I don't...

We choose the hotel as it had very favorable reviews over 8.0, the photos looked good. The reviews suggested it was a good location and a value for money hotel. ||||On arrival, the reception was small and cluttered with suitcases and building materials. The receptionist was however very pleasant and courteous. The room was on the second floor and clearly was a work in progress of being remodeled, floors, ceiling and bathroom facilities unfinished, holes in the ceiling and walls showing views into other rooms. The outside area was a work in progress with building materials and old mattresses, bedding and rubbish lay cluttered in the hallways. The Gym, Fitness areas were cluttered with building materials and could not be used, The breakfast area and kitchen appeared dirty after we explored the areas after check-in. After complaining we were offered an upgraded room at no charge and whilst the room was larger it was still a work in progress with ceilings and bathroom fittings not finished and the bed linen was dirty. We checked out !!||||We checked out and found another hotel close by with far better facilities at the same cost as ViewPort Hotel. ||||We can NOT...
