Arcadia — Restaurant in Montevideo

Well my first time back since my horrendous experience of a Christmas Buffet in 2014 which made me think of cafetarias in various prison movies without the high quality of service.

So on March 13 after seeing a new ad for a lunch buffet and tried it. An improvement more hospital cafeteria than prison but even less service.

In comparison the presentation looked better, the salad type things were flavorless but fresh, the cooked food was awful: overcooked to begin with, over steamed and nothing special for choice except the entrecote was completely unedible.

Plates were never picked up so I had to bus my own and the whole experience was not cheap at all (it would still have been expensive if the food was actually good.

I look forward to my next time in 2034!...

Service: This is something we're in short of most of the times - Specially in Montevideo. But the top-notch service has a name, and a place: Gabriela at the Radisson Victoria Plaza's Arcadia Restaurant in Montevideo.

Buffet-setting lunch: Starter, Main and Dessert.

I had: Starter: Juliana-chopped tomatoes with arugula leaves, alongside with mustard-base filling eggs, cheese and cold meat selection, and carrot-and-vegetables shuffle. Main: Bacon-wrapped grilled chicken, rosemary 'alla parmeggiana' chopped potatoes, and honey-savoured sweet potatoes. Dessert: I will be charged for Flan-lover, and I will be found guilty. I had two, because you can serve yourself as much as you need.

Good choice. Excellent choice. Value for money:...

Horrible experience over and over! As a guest at the Radisson Montevideo the Arcadia was the place where breakfast was served every morning. Bad breakfast and lackluster service. When you book the Arcadia, they say you cannot book the window balconies, that weirdly were kept empty all the times I was there. The food is mediocre and pricey. Maybe because I was so overwhelmingly disappointed at the Radisson it brushed off everything they did but I stopped going to the Arcadia because I no longer could put put up with lies. The view was the same I had from my suite and so....nothing new. That’s the kind of place suffering from bad management head to toe. Go...
