Bit of an odd one this, some really good points and a few dissapointing ones.||Best bits:|1, great bar, great guys serving there. Really excellent service. Loved a colf beer from the bar at the end of the day.|2, Bed and room really comfy. Clean and modern|3, Gym - excellent.||Odd bits:|1. Really poorly designed bathrooms. Shower is tiny and the shower glass partition is way too small to stop water from the shower pouring into the remaining tiny floor space in the bathroom. Reception said they would send someone to fix it :) in that case they will need to rebuild the hotel...|2. Pool - generally really nice, but its open to the public, so Sunday was chaotic and not very relaxing|3. Location - its fine, as i like a walk and know my way around the town. However, though not a fault of the hotel, the park is being rehabilitated which means to get into the center on foot at night you have to run the gauntlet of an unlit road without a sidewalk. Several times i had to run out of the way of oncoming cars. |4. Breakfast - i should say, it was a bit disappointing. Cant put my finger on it, but was probably 3 out of 5. ||Would i stay here again - yes, as it was a great place to escape from the heat before exploring the town in the evening, and the guys at the bar gave...

To start, the air conditioning works poorly, and when we called down to the front desk to request assistance, they sent a very rude man who stormed in, aggressively punched some buttons on the thermostat (actually turning the AC up!), and then tried to leave without saying anything. We stopped him and tried to explain that we had done that - but the room was still too warm. He then called the front desk, angrily yelled something in Uzbek, then stormed out.
We again spoke with the front desk and THEN they admitted that all the rooms AC were set to no lower than 24C (75F). We asked for a room change, and the room that we got was barely cooler.
The rooms are comically tiny, and appliances kept falling off the walls. At breakfast, the cups next to the coffee machine were too small, so there was a daily mess where the cups had overflowed.
The elevators are not air conditioned, which is incredibly dangerous in the summer.
The ATM was out of S’om and USD for all three days that we stayed here.
All of this is ridiculous for a 4-star hotel. Customer service is performative only. It’s comically tragic. We highly recommend...
