We spent a total of 3 nights at Alliance - 2 nights at the beginning of our trip and 1 night at the end during our trip across Uzbekistan to Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand. I booked the room through Booking.com. The first 2 nights was $53.50 and the last night was $49. They do not accept credit card. You can either pay in USD or Uzbekistan Som. There are plenty of ATMs around Tashkent.||||The hotel feels new and our room felt new. However, the floor wasn't very clean as evidenced by the bottom of our slippers. The first room we had was 203 and the 2nd room was 205. Room 205 is a bit bigger than 203.||||Both rooms had mini fridge, 2 bottles of complimentary water, hair dryer, slippers. There isn't a safe. The shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. ||||There is a U Cell office just down the street. We bought a SIM card there with our passport, copy of our visa and hotel registration. For 7 GB, 3000 minutes, we paid 57000 som for the SIM. It proved useful during our 12 days in Uzbekistan. It wasn't always very fast but manageable.||||Our room had complimentary WiFi. There are no complaints there. It was pretty fast.||||The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the Oybek Metro Station. We did our own metro tour and stopped at a few interesting stations. Many of them were gorgeous and very photogenic. You buy a token for 1400 som and the ride is the same price regardless of how many stops.||||Whenever it was too far to walk, we took Yandex. I loaded the app on my iPhone and the rides were extremely cheap. It was super easy to use. The drivers came within a few minutes. The only catch is that you need to pay in cash. The rides around town were around 5000 - 8000 som. From the airport, we paid 12500 som via Yandex to the hotel. The ride took 10 minutes. ||||The train station is even closer. We got back from Samarkand and the Yandex from the train station to the hotel cost 5700 som and took 6 minutes.||||We flew from Tashkent to Urgench for our Khiva visit. We accidentally went to the International Airport when we were supposed to go to the Domestic Airport. Don't make the same mistake we made. Make sure you go to the right airport. We paid 13000 som to get to the International Airport. Once we found out we were at the wrong airport, the taxi drivers were ruthless and asked for 40000 som. We talked them down to 30000 because we were panicked we would miss our flight. It would have been nice if the hotel reminded us that there are 2 airports because we had no clue.||||Breakfast at the hotel is from 7 am - 10 am. Breakfast is actually pretty bad. Not many items, items are cold. They don't offer any eggs to order. Coffee was cold. ||||Overall, we felt the room was good and great value. The location isn't the best for the metro but with Yandex so cheap, it...
Read moreGood choice for value. I stayed here for 2 nights in December. Room was located right under the roof with a triangle window. It was cold in the room (+17) but extremely hot on stairs (+25). A guy on reception was lying about bad gas provisioning from the city (and that 's why it was cold in the room), really there were no even heating radiators and this was the only reason. But he kindly provided electric oil heater, that was not enough for such big room. Another lie (on booking) was about local law that didn't allow them to use POS terminal for accepting payment, that's why they accept only cash without providing any checks. Many hotels in Tashkent accept cards, that's obviously was lie. Anything else is fine. Rooms are clean, bathroom is new and shining, floor in the bathroom was warm with pipe heating underneath. Linen is also clean and fresh. Breakfast included (from 7 till 10am), good choice of dishes. In walking distance to Rustaveli Ave there are many shops and fast food places. Close to the airport, 30 min on taxi. Best price. It was $35 per day. So if you are in transit, waiting for next flight it's good, but not perfect, be prepared for cold temperature...
Read moreWe were here for three nights and we had a comfortable stay. The room was big, it was more of a suite, with a separate living room and bedroom. Both floors and room was adequately heated, and we didnt feel cold inside at all. We also booked a trip to Chimgen through the hotel at a very reasonable price. The hotel is actually very well located, its 9 kms from the airport, close to the metro, close to few tourist spots, lots of nice restaurants and supermarkets at walking distance, etc. I only have two points for the management: 1. There is not a single vegetarian option at breakfast, it would be good to incorporate a few Housekeeping staff does not refresh toiletries on a daily basis, we used up our toothpaste, soap, drinking water etc on the first day and none if it was refreshed for the remainder of the stay. Overall i would definitely...
