The place has good reviews probably because of the private rooms. But the dorm…although it’s a nice room it has zero vibe and it literally made me feel uncomfortable and other, even male room mates too. There was a local guy who literally lives in there and thinks he is the king of the room. Also constantly listens to his phone loud, even when 4 others sleeping next to him or when he was asked 5 times already to not do it. And then if you don’t want to put up with him in the room at least during the day, sadly there is nowhere else to relax. The 2 tables in the yard are always full of smokers, and the only place where you are not directly in the smoke is a cozy-ish place at the stairs but it’s where the night receptionist sleeps in the morning and the kitchen lady in the evening. I don’t get why they don’t have a room or at least sleep in the office?! How does it look like your stuff is sleeping kind of on the corridor?! This kitchen lady, it’s fine she doesn’t speak English, she can at least nod for a good morning but she’s just miserable to foreign tourists. The receptionist guy is at least nice. Also there is only one toilet with the shower together and it’s shared not just between the dorm people and a lot of times you have to wait! The toilet is often left dirty and without toilet paper. It’s cleaned once daily but the shared bathroom should be checked at least a few times. The air con in the room has super bright light. Back to the smokers…there is a designated smoking area yet the whole building smells from cigarette (due to the enclosed nature of the building) as no one smokes there but at the kitchen/garden area and there should be some respect to other people’s health just because many doesn’t care about their own! The breakfast and coffee is nice and there is drinking water available. Overall this place would be best kept with private rooms and get rid of the dorm or improve the facilities for the dorm people and put up some rules on the wall. It’s nothing like a...
Read moreIt is a quirky place with twists and turns at different levels. Stairs to the left and right and more going up for three floors. Mirrors adorn the walls and there is a general floor sitting area with cushions on the first floor.||||We had a very large double room with plenty of storage space, a sitting area; TV and fridge. The room was functional and clean and the ensuite bathroom was adequate. Decent shower, sink and toilet all in working order. The WiFi worked well. No complaints for the price paid.||||Breakfast was included in the price and was more than adequate. Fresh fruits, pastries, yoghurt, eggs, sausage, bread, tea, coffee and fruit juice.||||What makes the place is the owner himself. He is one of the most obliging people you are likely to meet and he speaks perfect English. Nothing is too much trouble, from assisting with train bookings to sorting taxis; Pointing you in the right direction when you need to find a place in the locality; changing currency. All done with a smile.||||Thanks for your...
Read moreI only stayed 3 nights but I honestly loved this place. I stayed in the 5 bed dorm and was worried at first that it would be uncomfortable, but the bed was very comfy and I got so much sleep. Each bed came with a huge locker, extra pillow, multiple towels (hand/body), and a small lamp. Anvar himself was a genuinely good guy. He helped me book a train to Samarkand and gave me some recommendations for places to eat in Tashkent. The property itself was really cool with plenty of space to relax and chill, breakfast was pretty good and came for free with stay, and overall I'm glad I picked this place.
I was even able to meet a few people and chat. Normally, it's hard to find a social place in Tashkent. And granted it wasn't the kind of hostel vibe you'd get in Europe or south east Asia, but that was to be expected.
Also, the place was so clean! I was amazed. Bathroom was spotless, the room itself felt spacious and clean, and Anvar gives you free water bottles if...
