2 stars are for the staff and location. The staff is helpful and friendly. Located at the center of the city, near the grand market.||But the facilities are in bad condition. Both main room and bathroom are dirty, smelly and not functioned well. The room is super tiny. The fridge is also smelly, too old to cool our waters enough. There was a dump of trashes like empty bottles, small pieces of paper, etc. in the corner next to the table, they were there before we arrived, after 2 days they were still there. We couldn't find where to turn the water heater on, after my sister bathed, the hot water ran out, I had to bathed in cold water. ||I saw how good the other branches of Ken's House Backpackers are on this site. I called the Original one's number to book a room but they arranged us to this Downtown 2 one without asking our agreement. We paid not-so-cheap price (even much more expensive than the price on here, thought it is because of the weekend, but after arrived we found out it was absolutely not right!) expecting to stay in the popular high rated hotel, not in this old one. We were tricked to pre-pay all the cost of 2 nights stay saying it was a busy weekend (absolutely not again!), we might lose our room if we don't pre-pay, so we couldn't leave after a horrible night stay.||We also rented their bike, the bike is not good as it looks. It would crash and shut its engine any time. That is very dangerous in Dalat as it has many...
Read moreWe booked and paid 100% of charge in the early of June after the staff ||confirmed we would stay at their hotel on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Str and there was surely a room for us if we came in the early morning. We came at 5am on 1 Jul, we showed the staff (an young slim man) the message which they confirmed our stay. He checked in the book and said there wasnt my booking, even though I showed him the booking receipt and confirmed message. He offered us to wait until 7am to talk to another staff who got out booking, and offered us to take a rest in another room with extra fee for this. We decide to sit at the desk and waited. It was until 7:30am and there was no person. We were tired and starving after all night long on bus so we went out for breakfast. Before we left, they had said they would try to arrange the room for us and we could checkin at 2pm. When we were hanging out, they called us to say that there was no any room for us, the staff taking my booking was fired, they arranged another room in another hotel with lower price. When I looked at the room they offered, I totally was disappointed. But we had no choice. It's quite hard to find room this time. They said they had paid for the new hotel but when we checked out, the reception said Ken only paid for 1 night. Then we called Ken's staff, luckily they paid for us the left one, with a very rude attitude. ||Will never stay...
Read moreWe arrived Ken's house at 4am. That was not in our plan because the coach time was so short at night to arrive Da Lat. We knocked their door and have a seat and bathroom to freshen up. |The problem is that we booked a room at 2pm on that day (it's our mistake). So we go around city centre and at 12 the receptionist called us to have our own room (clean and be ready to be used). OMG! You don't know how I feel when I could get a place to sleep earlier than I booked and after a long coach route and staying out for waiting. The receptionist is so nice, always smile and help us a lot for what we asked for. We rented a motorbike at Ken as well to travel easily in Da Lat. It's new and very good condition. Love the service that they provided. We will visit Dalat again in August and appropriately to choose Ken to stay. 👍🏻|P/S: sorry that I don't like taking photos in the hostel/hotel room so I can't give you any photo. The room is quite small but enough for you to have a good sleep with comfort and clean bed & bathroom. I don't care about the size of the room when I just need to sleep &...
