I booked this hotel through Agoda. The male staff had poor English. He told me to wait 5 mins but we waited 50 minutes because he only allowed us to check in after 2 pm!!! The room was already ready! I requested: 1. Non-smoking but given a smoking room with smoking tray. 2. Early check-in but only got to check-in at 2:10 pm after I went back to the reception 5 times!!! I even sat next to the reception guy and he was constantly on the phone! There was a family with a baby who was allowed to check in earlier than me even they came after me! 3. Requested for high floor and was given a room on high floor next to their staff’s room. 4. I and my foreign partner just stay in Hanoi for 1 week. We book 2 rooms for some nights in Hanoi center before moving to Halong bay to check some things for contracts. This hotel can be rated more than 3 star due to its great location in the central district of capital nearby Hoankiem lake. All staff, so nice, gentil and hospitable. The hotel is located on the southern side of the Hoan Kiem Lake. Great choice if you are looking for a midrange hotel situated among key government offices. Shopping and dining areas in the Old Quarter are within 5-10 minutes walking distance. ||||The hotel room itself is clean and well maintained. I was surprised though the room is smaller than I expected. The hotel's standard twin room is small than some budget hotels I've stayed in Hanoi. Nonetheless, other amenities and services are okay.
