The menu at Jumarc is where the "modern bar and kitchen" truly comes to life. They push the boundaries of traditional Korean flavors, infusing them with creative twists. One standout appetizer is the Miss Korea Salad, featuring a unique Jumarc-style spicy sauce that beautifully coats fresh vegetables, smoked pork belly, seaweed, and soy-marinated quail eggs. It's a fantastic start, balancing savory, spicy, and fresh elements. Another highly praised dish is the Korean Tarte with Fried Seaweed. This inventive creation features raw beef, delicately balanced with egg yolk and pear. What truly elevates it is the accompanying fried seaweed and rice paper, adding a delightful crunch and umami depth. Diners have raved about its deliciousness, often surprised by how well the raw beef is presented and flavored.
For the main courses, you might find innovative takes like Hermès Tteokbokki – a visually appealing dish with rich sauce and fragrant grilled fresh shrimp paired with the classic rice cakes. The Rib Eye Galbi Steak is also a popular choice, perfectly grilled to a medium-rare to ensure the meat's sweetness and juiciness are preserved. The presentation of all dishes is consistently eye-catching, with vibrant colors.
Beyond the food, Jumarc offers a nice range of wines and other beverages that perfectly complement their dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. The staff are attentive and contribute to the top-notch service, ensuring guests feel welcome and well cared for.

Read moreWent to celebrate my husband's birthday here. Started off well, with friendly service and upbeat music. They forgot it was my husband's birthday but soon remembered and even wrote happy birthday on the table.
We asked about the feed me menu and ensured the chefs could change some of the items as we are Hindu and CANNOT eat beef. I am allergic to seafood and made sure to let my waitress know. They asked the kitchen and agreed to vary the menu items for us before we ordered. Unfortunately this is where it went downhill. When the truffle dumplings came out, I asked if it had pork or chicken mince in it. The bartender said it has pork and beef. The waitress said no, it has only pork. I said, are you sure? She says yes. Then she asks the bartender and chefs and it turns out, there was beef in it. My husband wasn't too particular as we didn't want trouble so he ate it (but I couldn't as my religion does not permit this)
She was apologetic and said sorry 3 to 4 times though so it was okay. They gave a soda water for free but nothing else to really rectify it but they gave us a small cake. The truffle K Pasta was really tasty and id recommend it as well as the kimchi. The 4 cheese chicken sauce was yum, although the chicken bits were rubbery and I couldn't eat much - we left most of it.
Overall, good value for money as we got the wine pairing. Some items were extremely good. Bartender was very friendly and asked a lot of questions about us and gave Hanoi recommendations. At the end, we loved the Chilean wine and asked for a sip more. Although hesitant, he gave my husband a sip.
Besides the beef mishap and correction, the place was good, upclass and most of the food was tasty. Would I go back? Im not sure but im glad we checked it out! 😌 thanks for singing happy bday...
Read moreI’ve been to Jumarc many times now. It’s a lovely little wine bar close to Trang Tien Plaza.
It’s precisely what the area needs to wind down and relax at after shopping or walking through the area.
Sadly the food programme just doesn’t work. I’ve seen the wine list improve and IF the offering was one of a wine bar with delicious bites like truffle cheese and cold cuts, it might be a hit.
Instead it’s food like offal, innards, pickled fish roe, tteboki and war-time food that doesn’t match. This place does not make the food cool, it is diminished. (-2 points)
Similarly food cost compared with pricing is quite low so the pricing is not exactly reasonable.
It might be a place that I visit every day to have a nibble before I go out for dinner or I might even stick around and have dinner but I just can’t wrap my head around the menu and I think this sentiment is echoed by the hundreds of thousands of people who frequent this district who would appreciate such a place.
Hopefully they can gracefully move away from this food concept and offer real food to be served with wine instead of being a pretentious empty box.
That would be great! That would...
