Do not book a bus to anywhere via them! It’s a scam. We’ve booked a bus from Hoi An to Hue which costed 150k Dong per person. However, the staff took our money but did not give us the tickets, which she said it was not necessary. Yet when the mini shuttle bus took us to the bus station, the station staff said we should have the tickets otherwise we could not get on the bus. We thus paid again (100k) to purchase the bus tickets there!

The staffs are dishonest and you should not trust their words! ————————————— Edited: So I called the hostel staff about this issue after I got onto the bus. There seems to be a miscommunication between Lazy Bear and the bus company. I asked the Lazy Bear staff to talked to the bus staff directly via phone, and the bus staff gave back our money.

Be sure to get the bus tickets even if the hostel staffs said it is not necessary! If they could not offer the tickets, just don’t book via them. Other bus company in the Old Town sold bus tickets to Hue that could be cheaper(120k per person) and you would be safe with the...

This place is fantastic!! It is spotlessly clean and really well maintained. I was sick during my stay (from some cocktails in town I think!) and was so grateful that it happened when I was staying at Lazy Bear rather than anywhere else. The owners - Binh, her husband Linh and their family couldn’t have done more for us. They brought up ginger tea when I was suffering, booked taxis, boats and train tickets, getting better prices than what we could find online and they made us all feel right at home.

Bikes are free to take when you stay with them, including kids’ ones, and one with a child seat on the back, and from Lazy Bear it’s a 15 min cycle on fairly quiet roads or through beautiful rice fields to Hoi An town. Taxis are easy to get too, and there are a good few places to eat and drink close by as an alternative.

The little pool is great and my kids loved it, the banana pancakes were amazing and their local knowledge and advice was invaluable. We have stayed in lots of home stays in Vietnam, but none as welcoming and excellent quality...

Me and boyfriend had an absolute awesome time at this hostal, it was by far our favourite so far in Vietnam. The staff were super friendly and offer you a lot of advice and info about Hoi An. They reccomended a certain tailors where my boyfriend got a 3 piece suit made and I got a jacket and dress made and because you stay at this hostal you get further discount which is amazing! They offer free bicycles which is a great way to get around Hoi An and we booked our Hai Van Pass tour from Hoi An to Hue through the hostal which worked out perfectly. The company they work with transfer you luggage for you to th next destination which is really helpful. The hostal is extremely clean and the rooms have amazing bathrooms and really comfy beds the best I have seen so far !! Breakfast and other food is also really great! So hope we get another chance to visit Hoi An again and stay at this AMAZING hostal, we wouldn’t stay any where else. Can’t say enough...

I honestly wouldn’t recommend this hostel. I had booked for 5 nights and stayed for 1. I arrived very late at night to find I had to stay in a very damp room that stank of mould. The walls were actually damp as was the bedding. I explained to the owner in the morning that I would t be staying. She asked me to cover the fees from booking.com which I did. I paid them 1.1m vnd (about £37.50). I was incredibly annoyed when I was whatsapped by the owner and she threatened to charge the entire amount on top of that! Utter scam! I have attached pictures of the damp room and the WhatsApp’s sent by the owner. Overall I wouldn’t stay here. The mould was so extensive (it looked like it had been wiped off) that it caused me to have a cough for quite a few days after.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Very clean, modern yet homey, beautifully decorated, loved balcony, neighborhood near rice fields and quiet but easy grab ride or walk into old town. Delicious homemade breakfast, kind family, given a map and some recommendations upon arrival, responsive on WhatsApp. Binh has great sense of humor. Great laundry service and got me affordable taxi to airport last minute. Just what I needed for a solo break from dorms to recharge. Great WiFi and AC. Just bikes could be better, but I found one to rent in old town for cheap. They accept credit cards which not all places do and that was very helpful. I love little touches like the small library with books I could read :) Thank you for everything!!! Highly recommend staying here.
