We have been coming to the DaNang/Hoi An area for a number of years. Unfortunately, we had to skip our annual vacation over the past few years due to Covid. We had been staying at Palmy Villa over our two previous visits, and decided to return again.
We booked our usual third floor room, with a balcony and view facing the back and side of the property, overlooking the top of palm trees. There was plenty of light coming into the room, but we are able to turn off the AC, open the window and doors, and get a cool, natural breeze throughout the day. The Wi-Fi and TV were also very good.
What has always impressed us on our previous visits was the attention that is given to the entire hotel area. The rooms and grounds are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. It appears that the cleaning staff was notified when we were eating breakfast and cleaned our rooms when it was convenient to our needs. It is always a pleasant experience returning to a clean room after eating breakfast. The breakfasts met our needs. Plenty of fresh fruit, cereal, baked items and eggs/noodles/rice prepared to our wishes.
Palmy Villa has what I would consider an entry level lap pool (15 meters long/averaging 7 strokes per length of the pool) where I can get a decent workout early in the morning. Across the road, lies a number of rice fields with level roads that are perfect for a 3-4 km. run.
The owner and staff accommodated all of our needs. Whether they be with breakfast, furnishing us with bicycles that are in good condition, or helping with directions to out of the way restaurants and other attractions. The location of Palmy Villa was perfect for our needs. It is halfway (15 minutes by bicycle) to the old town and to the beach, making both locations extremely accessible. There is a local market in close proximity if you want to buy fruits and local food.
We look forward to returning to Palmy Villa on our...
Read moreI absolutely loved my time at Palmy Villa in Hoi An—it was one of the most relaxing stays of my trip. My room was beautiful, quiet, and I could watch the sunset right from my balcony, which made every evening feel extra special.||Breakfast was simple but just right—fresh and satisfying to start the day. The staff were lovely and always happy to help, whether it was booking taxis, tours, or just offering local tips. I booked a tour to the Golden Hands Bridge through them—definitely worth seeing, but I recommend the early tour as it gets very busy later in the day.||The hotel provides free bikes, which made it easy to explore the area and cycle into the old town. Grab taxis or motorbikes are also easy to get, and I’d recommend downloading the app, it made getting to the beach or back into town super convenient.||Overall, Palmy Villa was the perfect base for a chilled-out Hoi An stay - peaceful, friendly, and really well located. I’d go back in...
Read moreI have very selfishly been putting off doing this review. Selfish because I don't want it to be full when I come back! But seriously, this is the most perfect place we have stayed in our almost 5 months of travelling in Asia. The people are amazing, the rooms are lovely and big, breakfast is simple but good, the pool is a good size (much bigger than what is usual here), it's quiet (usually, no one knows when karaoke might break out!) But mostly it's the people. I want them to adopt me. We stayed here on 4 separate occasions over the last couple of months and I'm now back for two weeks on my own. The perfect spot to just pause and regroup. Not far to bike anywhere but out of the chaos of town. So many places tucked away locally through. But please don't book when I want to come...
