After a false start to get here in Aug 2024 we finally arrived back in Hoi An and this time our first stay at the Hotel Royal Hoi An – Gallery. For ease this time we elected to be picked up by the Hotel vehicle which was very comfortable and before long we had arrived and checked in to our room #2602 a Grand Deluxe room with a view out over the river and to the left Ancient Town. Having been to Hoi An twice before this was more a chill out holiday and a chance to catch up with some local friends.
The hotel is conveniently located and has two large pools with one of those on the Skydeck, the Skydeck also has the highest rooftop bay in Hoi An affording wonderful daytime and sunset views, even if you don’t stay here, you can enjoy sundowners as a guest. The room was large and had one of the largest beds we have had the pleasure of resting on, the bathroom is a part of the main room with a large freestanding bathtub which you can curtain off beyond that is the frosted glass shower stall and toilet.
Very very nice and I would choose this room again.
Breakfast included in booking and the buffet was amazing, the coffee machine makes a decent coffee if you are creative with the controls, for me it was a double espresso with a measure small shot of warm milk. I did have a coffee as provide by the team when suited but this was not to my liking so the next 5 mornings, I was happy with my DYI option. We choose to eat outside on the deck overlooking the busy streets. A big shout out to Tram what an asset to this fine establishment her smile and conversation second to none. I would also acknowledge Thanh, Hoang and Hup for there assistance during the stay.
Looking forward to coming back in the future.
A special thank you to management for holding our booking open after issues...
Read moreStayed at the Hotel Royal for our 3 day stop in Hoi An during our honeymoon. The hotel itself is well-presented and rooms are very nice with a decent breakfast spread. One of its main advantages was the air conditioning which was quite literally superlative and a welcome relief after a day of exploring. Both pools also looked very nice but we personally didn't partake.
Our main gripe is that when booking direct through the hotel our first attempt timed out before confirming so we made the booking again to secure it. It later transpired that both payments went through and despite contacting them to rectify it within 24 hours - we were told a refund wasn't possible so instead they provided us with credit to the value of the duplicate room. This also wasn't transferrable to their sister hotel to use in the beach club.
We made the best of attempting to use this up during our stay by using their laundry service (very decent) and with treatments at their spa facility (kudos to Emma and her colleague for their services here) but not an ideal situation. Shout out also to Bao the concierge who was a credit to the hotel with his attitude and demeanor.
Ultimately this is a decent option for a stay in Hoi An, but if we were going again we'd likely opt for a smaller boutique with less of a commute to the old town (in spite of the...

They have 2 blocks with red colored rooms and blue colored rooms. We choose second option - Grand Deluxe Room in Wakaku Wing.
Room was amazing. It was the first time in my life where I saw the candle with lemongrass in the bathroom, so when you come you will get the best smell in your room!
Great view from the balcony, comfortable bed, big bathroom, everything you need in the closet.
It was amazing to get complimentary fruits and sweets! Thank you so much for it ☺️
Breakfast was generous. We don’t eat everything but we were full and found a lot of delicious and healthy options. Restaurant is not overcrowded at all so you can find the best table.
There are 2 great swimming pools. So you can relax and chill any time. In the rooftop bar you can enjoy the view with tender coconut.
For a dinner I would advise their Japanese restaurant. Food was really good!
Lobby and hotel itself has a lot of beautiful and elegant details. So you can find a lot of photo zones for your social media and great memory :) Many areas with different activities and bicycles (free of charge).
Staff is so attentive! And ready to help you with any wish.
Convenient location in downtown but far away from noise.
I really enjoyed...
