Holy Land Homestay — Hotel in Hội An

I booked in one night here with my boyfriend but decided to extend our stay as we were so pleased with the hostel and with Lily as a host. Straight from arrival she was attentive and helped us organise not only our time in Hoi An but also the rest of our trip in Vietnam. We had some different plans that would require a lot of organisation which we hadn’t appreciated but by the time we left the hostel 2 days later Lily had made phone calls and bookings for us and printed extensive and clear instructions on how we would carry out the next part of our trip. From the hostel you can borrow bicycles for free and rent mopeds for just $5 a day which we felt was the best way to explore. Lily has great advice on the best places to try all the delicacies for a range of budgets and dietary needs, she has extensive knowledge about the area and can help you arrange bookings with ease. We wanted to stay 1 night at first but we stayed for 3 nights. The room has been clean and comfortable enough. Lily - the owner is very nice and helpful person but she also likes to sell you anything. We could rent bikes that was included in the price and we enjoyed it. But you can expect if there are more tourists in the hotel there are not so many rideable bikes as well. She told us it is around 2 km to the beach and around 1 km to the old town but you can check google maps it is 4 km to the beach and almost 2 km to the old town. It is not a lot when you have a bike but the information she provided is not correct. The room has been nice, only the mattress and the pillow in the room have been too hard for me because I like softer ones. The day before we left the hotel the owner agreed she make a breakfast for us 6:30-7:00 because we had a bus. 10 minutes before 7 I had to ring the bell and we felt as it is kind of problem and too early. We have spent a few days here. Our room (upstairs in the middle) was clean enough and has a pretty big bathroom with hairdryer, toothbrushes, combs, soap and shampoo that was great. There is a TV inside the room but it had a bad picture but doesn't matter we didn't come to watch TV. If you like hard beds you will like the mattress. We were satisfied with the accommodation, services - there is a room for improvement. You can rent a bicycle for free but it is not easy to choose a good one - some of them need to be repaired (tires, a chain, brakes, a pedal). The breakfast wasn't a strong side of this accommodation. You want to order something from the menu - meal or drink and they don't have it - be prepared for it.
