Room was pretty nice overall. Big for the price and AC worked great. Bathroom had no toilet seat and sink drained directly onto floor. The house itself is nice, we didn’t spend anytime hanging out there but just used it as a base for exploring. We contacted Memories early and had them send their own car to pick us up direct from da nang airport (300,000vnd) we used a private car service which let us pay online via PayPal for (220,000vnd) so obviously go with a private company not memories for your transport needs. We were greeted by an older man who didn’t seem thrilled to be working there and every other sentence was trying to sell a tour or book us transport somewhere. We do our own thing and don’t book tours so we kindly said no and thanks. ||Our first night was a disaster. My wife had fallen asleep around 11pm and at 12:30am a couple of loud people who either lived at memories or just hung out there a lot began yelling and screaming. One lady was sobbing uncontrollably and fell down the stairs which then made her yell and scream. A bit later around 1:30am more screaming, swearing and yelling by both a man and a woman. This continued with more loud crying until it was light out the next morning. Around 7am it was quiet and by 8 the neighborhood was starting to wake up and get loud so all in all I got maybe 1 hour of sleep.not fun.||Breakfast can be hit or miss, you are simply shown to a nearby street food place and eat their fare. We ate at a vegan place the first morning(cold noodles with a sour broth and some greens) so we left quickly the 2nd morning and ate delicious pho from just a minute down the road for 30,000 from a nice lady and her cute daughter.||The younger lady working is very kind, but will also try and sell to you. Whether it is tours, rides to the airport or slipping her tailoring shop card to you. Hoi An is a place where the locals know that you are there and can’t get out so they will sell to you non stop...that being said Hoi An is also one of our favorite cities in SE Asia and is a must see destination. Pick a different place to stay or simply leave early in the AM, do your thing and come back...
Read moreWe spent two nights at Memories homestay and what a great surprise! The owners' son, Nhon, is very helpful, friendly and dynamic and he speaks well English.|He organized us a last minute visit to Cham Island, he also has very good addresses (tailor, motorbike renting, restaurant...) do not hesitate to follow his advice.||The homestay is located in a quiet street and at 10min-walk from the old Hoi An. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms also, even if a little hot and moist. |Take the room breakfast included ! It is a unique experience, you sit just around the corner and eat a delicious baguette & omelette or Cau Lao||I highly recommend Memories homestay, for small budgets and the best Hoi...
Read moreHoi An has been my favourite city in Vietnam and it's mostly because of this great family. The staff of this homestay is so friendly and caring. They will help you with anything.||||I had an amazing room for the price I was paying. The shower was really good, probably the best I've had in Vietnam. Besides that, it really nice that the family takes you to a local restaurant for breakfast every morning! The location was also good; a 15-20 minute walk to the old town.||||If you're looking for a nice homestay with a warm and caring family who is willing to do everything to help you and make you feel welcome all the time, then I'm sure this is...
