GemVilla — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

avoid!! this place is a scam!! we booked on agoda and didn’t look at the reviews until we arrived. It didn’t feel safe, we couldn’t call the number at the staircase, we walked up and found some men smoking in a hallway. There was a really really friendly guy who spoke to us over google translate and tried to help us in anyway he could. We think he was a guest staying there. Everyone was friendly but we didn’t feel safe staying or leaving our things there. The pictures do not look anything like the real thing, the rooms are old, dirty, and nothing like the pictures. It looks like it was once a lovely place...

Was woken at 10pm demanding I switch rooms. I was very confused. As they wanted other people to sleep in booking. During the day - no staff present, no one is present during day hours. After much negotiations I begged to please continue this miscommunication in the morning. The staff was irritated by this. I expressed I could pack my things by at least 7am. They were upset and went back to their party downstairs. I showed them my booking through Agoda with confirmation of payment and room. Update - incoming

I was told to immediately pay for my suitcase to be brought up...

Definitely got what we paid for. Room was not cleaned, bedding was dirty, condoms on the floor, and the shower exploded on my partner one night due to the filter valve.

Otherwise AC, a fan and Tv were included in the room and worked great :)

The staff were friendly, but were not always available. We rented motobikes from there, they work great for the price we paid.

Overall it was a great atmosphere, just not...
