Hotel is at a good location, good value and the staff is super nice. Special shout out to Teresa for keeling my room nice and clean with a great personality!
However, I had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel, and I must say that my stay was far from satisfactory. One of the main issues that completely ruined my stay was the hotel's allowance for smoking in their rooms. As a non-smoker, I found this policy to be incredibly distressing and it significantly impacted my overall impression of the hotel.
The smell of smoke was so overpowering that it was impossible to escape, breathe even after opening the windows and using air fresheners. It was evident that the hotel did not invest enough effort into maintaining a clean and smoke-free environment for their guests.
Furthermore, the hotel's policy of allowing smoking in the rooms showed a lack of consideration for non-smoking guests like myself. I had specifically requested a non-smoking room during the booking process, assuming that a modern hotel would prioritize the comfort and health of all its guests. Unfortunately, my request was completely disregarded, leaving me feeling disrespected and ignored. I will raise this issue with the booking company.
In conclusion, my stay at White Lotus Hotel was marred by the hotel's complete disregard for non-smoking guests. Allowing smoking in the rooms resulted in an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience, with the pervasive smell of smoke and the overall lack of cleanliness. I strongly advise non-smokers to avoid this hotel unless they enjoy breathing in second-hand smoke and enduring an unaccommodating...
Read moreThis was my second stay at the White Lotus. My first visit in 2019 was wonderful, but my second stay in 2024 was a disappointment.
During my one-week stay, I made the same request as I did in 2019: a 110V transformer or outlet for my curling iron. The front desk informed me they did not provide this and suggested I buy it myself! I’ve stayed in many hotels across Vietnam, and this is the only one that has been so poorly managed and dismissive of such a basic request. To make matters worse, another staff member later apologized for the initial response and promised to provide the transformer. I waited, but it never arrived.
Another disappointment was breakfast. Over my week-long stay, there was very little variety in the menu, with only a few items changing each day. Additionally, the food seemed poorly executed, as though minimal care was given to preparation.
Recommendations for improvement:
Staff Training: Front desk staff need better training on how to respond professionally and courteously to guest requests. 110V Support: If your goal is to attract American tourists, consider accommodating tools and equipment that run on 110V. Improved Breakfast Quality: If the breakfast budget is tight, focus on offering fewer but higher-quality dishes. Reduce fried and heavy options like ramen and stir-fries, and instead, prioritize healthier, vegetable-based options. Unfortunately, my second visit has left me hesitant to return. There’s significant room for improvement to bring the service and quality back to the standard I...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at White Lotus Hotel, a centrally located hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and it was an exceptional experience that deserves high praise. Perfectly situated just few minutes walk away from iconic attractions like the Ben Thanh Market, Notre-Dame Basilica, and the War Remnants Museum, this hotel is an ideal base for exploring the vibrant culture and history of the city.
From the moment I arrived, the staff’s commitment to hospitality was evident. The front desk team (Eric & Rose) greeted me with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm, making check-in seamless and welcoming. I also have my simcard delivered in the Hotel, very seamless transaction. Throughout my stay, every staff member I encountered—from housekeeping (Victoria) to the concierge (Hai & Philip) —displayed remarkable professionalism and a sincere desire to ensure my comfort.
They went above and beyond, they also lent us umbrellas since we visited the city during the monsoon season.
The hotel’s cleanliness was impeccable. My room was spotless, with crisp linens, a pristine bathroom, and daily housekeeping that maintained a consistently high standard.
Public areas, including the lobby and dining spaces, were equally well-kept, I appreciate that they serve a decent breakfast- (Lindy served me a very delicious noodle soup)
The attention to customer care truly set this...
