I had a nearly perfect stay at M Village Vo Thi Sau! For the most part, I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment-like style shared with a friend and moved to single room for my last night. Coming from someone who work-travel a lot, this place suits digital nomad lifestyle well.
My observation was this co-living compound caters to local tourists more; that said they manage it so well and professionally, I would consider living here long-term if I ever move to HCMC.
Location (5/5): Situated in a centrally located, residential part of the city center (District 3) but away from the crazy busy tourist crowd (20-30 mins walk to Bu Vien / Nguyen Hue / Saigon River. Many food options nearby, from local eateries to aesthetic cafes, I find the price here relatively cheaper too. Decent sidewalk for pedestrian within ~3km! There's a nice, heavy shade park (Tao Danh) and a daily pass gym just walking distance for those into fitness.
Interior/Facilities (4.5/5): Modern minimalist style and intentionally/ergonomically built. Very spacious and lots of storage. Comfortable for longer stay. Has a mini backyard if you're into working in open space. Also Every half cafe & roastery is just next door :) you get 15% off by staying at the hotel. Laundry room free to use. Room is cleaned every 2 days.
Service (4.5/5): Staffs are amazing!! very kind and courteous. Most of them don't converse in English but they are willing to go the distance, helping me figuring out how to retrieve my lost wallet.
What can be improved: Make water dispenser available at every floor/corners of the compound. When I moved to the single room I had to move to a different building above Every Half cafe and I had to walk a bit to the hotel area just to fetch some water. A smart TV would be nice. Consider English training for staffs so that they can have a conversation with guests! they are all...
Read moreGOOD INTERIOR DESIGN BUT VERY BAD ATTITUDE FROM RECEPTIONIST I stayed in this place in 18 and 19 Jan to host a near event with about 30 other fellows in our organization, including both Vietnamese and those from SEA countries. Did expect a lot since the price is quite good in the city center and the overall design is so creative. First impression: there are many green spaces and the room looks quite nice. However, the shower almost fell on my toes because it cannot be hung well. In addition, be ware that there's A LOT of mosquitoes in both bathroom and living room, and not every bathroom hood works, such as in my room. You know what happens when someone is done pooping... And this should be in a seperate paragraph: the receptionist's attitude was not welcoming since the moment our team stepped in. She kept asking me about my fellows' request although she could call their rooms and ask them directly, because I was not informed by them beforehand. Was quite annoyed by how she solves problems by letting HER customer do it on their OWN, and by saying "I don't know" and "Ask the sales team because I am not in charge of that", she has done her job excellently for the day. Dear M Village, if you're seeing this, plz note that the girl I'm talking about wears glasses and took care of the reception during 18 Jan morning. She makes the whole experience become 0. Conclusion: if I was being honest, I would rate this hotel 1/5, but the other point was saved by the designs. Was so pissed that I didn't take any photos during the stay, but I've never made up a story online to ruin a business that is doing pretty well. This whole experience was real, and I would definitely NOT choose this...
Read moreOverall the place is very nice, very well designed and a nice coffee shop on the ground floor. staff always very helpful. the room itself was pretty nice if showing its age slightly but they seem to be redoing some of the rooms. it’s located in a nice quiet neighborhood which is very convenient for a lot of places you might want to go in HCMC. the shower is a wet room and you can’t close the door properly if you have a mat by the door, which is a minor inconvenience.
i’m only giving 4 stars because the door to my room (503) was occasionally a bit difficult to close - sometimes it took a couple of attempts to close it properly. this wouldn’t have been a big problem except the cleaning staff seemingly weren’t aware of this, because after my room was cleaned i came back to find the door was just open. i think the problem is with the door rather than the cleaning staff but anyone could have walked into my room and taken anything, and security is important esp in vietnam! luckily everything was still there but it was a bit disconcerting. recommend you guys take a look at the door or at least advise the cleaning staff to make sure it’s shut when...
