New Pacific Hotel — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

I’ve a vacation with my families recently. While I checked in to this “so called 4 stars hotel”, myself and families’ passports were detained at front office and was told only could return to us when we check out ! |What the hell is that??? I was given statement by the staffs that Vietnam, especially Saigon, especially the area nearby this hotel very dangerous ! Many cases happened that tourists stayed in this hotel been robbed. Staffs even told me to stay in hotel, not to go anywhere because everywhere in Vietnam is dangerous..WHAT THE FXXX !!! |I’m paying for this vacation, and even I want to spend my night time, to kill the time in the casinos around also unable because MY PASSPORT WAS DETAINED NOT BY ANY GOVERNMENT BUT HOTEL !!!! Seriously 😐 |Worst come to worst, attached pictures..|The ceiling light bulb not working and I called receptionist, they sent a housekeeper (unfriendly and fierce) to come over and answered me, “CANNOT DO”. They need to go electronic shop to purchase new light bulb on next working day to fix it up..COME ON NEW PACIFIC HOTEL,,,,,this is the basic requirement to do a business, don’t you know the brightness as such could occur any safety hazard?? My knee was injured due to knock on the bed corner ! I don’t understand why till dates still using such old furniture, don’t ever tell me this is unique design, it’s ridiculous.|The kettle provided in room, do you guys dare to use it? Come on, I don’t give it a damn. The hand towel? Bath towel? Face towel? Even my white normal shirt whiter than it, what a superb Low class hotel ever had ! Please, do not ever visit or waste a single cent in...

The hotel was once a great place with a grand lobby and heavy wood furniture. Rooms are nice and big but crowded with heavy furniture, you might bang your knees on the tight corners. I can go on a lot about the little things but real deal was the breakfast at this place. for my two nights stay there were large Chinese group which started for breakfast early. I had to constantly remind the staff to bring more food as toys were empty. The staff did not seem to budge or care. in the two days there was no butter for your bread. The structure of this hotel may be a 4 star but service not even 2 star. Other areas I found the staff to be the same, they were scared and reluctant to give any help. Don't leave any food on your breakfast plate the hotel charges for waste!||Hotel says there's drink making facility in the room but you will have to bring everything but the kettle. Buffet dinner stated to be available at a discount but in fact the restaurant is only for breakfast and then only if you have a pass to get past security. If travelling as a couple you will need to leave the room/hotel together as hotel will not provide a second secrutiy pass/key which is need to enter and use any facility within the hotel including lift and room.
