Saigon Coffee Roastery — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

SaiGon Coffee Roastery has claimed my spot for favorite coffee in the city. The menu of of coffees is pretty robust compared to others allowing for various brew methods and multiple non-dairy and non-soy milk options.

Whether it’s an aeropress, chemex, or an almond milk flat white you’ll end up with a great cup of coffee.

About the only thing I can nit pick about SCR is they don’t have all that comfortable of seating. Most of their seats are wooden stools and the one bench that is padded seems to be regularly occupied (sometimes be me 😂).

On top of all of this I also feel they have the best selection of beans to purchase for your coffee at home. They even have civet coffee on hand, which I haven’t seen anywhere else.

the decor and ambiance are quite nice, but food was a letdown. I went because I've been on a quest to find a good French Toast in Saigon, but definitely was not a French toast. If you are thinking of ordering it, it is just toast with eggs and onions on top. It's good but perhaps I should have thought about it more by reading the description - probably my fault. Anyhow, a bit of a disappointment on my birthday when I wanted French toast. But then again - think about where I am looking for French toast. Can't complain too much I reckon! The bacon burger is also not a burger - just bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and a peculiar pink sauce on a bun. Both food items were a bit bland but not offensive. Really enjoyed my time at this cafe! The atmosphere is really nice—it's cozy and has just the right vibe for either relaxing or getting some work done. I especially appreciated how quiet it was, which made it easy to focus without distractions. It's definitely a great spot if you need to catch up on emails or just want a peaceful break.

The staff were friendly and service was prompt, which always makes a big difference.
