2024-06-17 (update) : the amazing ramen I got last time was different on Monday. The broth was more liquid compared to the rich and thick one of the last time. So it was really deceiving. Quality is unconstant. And for this ramen that is a reaply common one, it is overpriced. If I got the quality of last week okay. Maybe some days of the week, the chef tries to cheat on quality to save few d 🤷🏻♂️
2024-06-12 : Amazing ramen. I ate ramen all over Japan for many months. This one is really outstanding. Totally impressed to find that here.
The service is attentive and quick. Very surprising for this city 😄. They really care about customer satisfaction.
For any reason, in the morning at the toilet everything is liquid. So now I am suspicious about the hygiene used in this restaurant or how they preserve the meat and other ingredients. Reading other comments I can see this is a recurrence issue.
Please make something about it.
Forget about the porc sandwich. It is loaded with mayonnaise and litterally destroys the porc taste. Why put some mayo on a really fat piece of porc ? 🤒🥹
Forget about the ice cream. Just cream with almost no vanilla. Tastes cheaper than the basic one you can buy in any gorcery store. It litterally destroys your feeling for the last memory of the place. I think the restaurant should stop to provide it or reintroduced vanilla into it. If you compare the picture on menu vs what you get it is really funny. And they really vent it is vanilla from Madagascar. You can see from the picture vanilla is symbolically present. So almost a scam to be honest.
So between those 2 mistakes it is the price of a good restaurant mistake here, because every element has their prices boosted to the maximum possibly imaginable and so my expectations.
The place is clean and well ventilated. They can put some effort into the floors that are only Vietname cleaned style 😶🌫️
One last point is the reviews. I see a lot 5 stars reviews from accounts with almost no reviews on their...
Read moreI was seated at the table closest to the entrance. Shortly after, deliveries began, and the staff were frequently moving in and out. I politely requested that the door be closed after opening, but a staff member told me it should be left open since they were carrying items. I mentioned this to the staff member handling menus near the entrance, so I expected he would at least monitor the door and manage it appropriately. However, despite Ippudo promoting "Omotenashi" — it was even used as the Wi-Fi password — the true spirit of Japanese hospitality does not seem to have been properly taught or passed down here.
At the time, road construction was ongoing outside, making the air dusty, and unfortunately, it made the food feel less enjoyable as well. While the staff smile and provide surface-level service, it seems that only the superficial aspects of Japanese service culture have been passed on, without conveying the sincerity and attentiveness that "Omotenashi" truly represents.
I also believe that with a little more consideration, there could have been ways to avoid such discomfort — for example, by refraining from seating customers near the entrance during scheduled delivery times.
Additionally, I witnessed kitchen staff loudly celebrating a coworker's birthday, prioritizing their own festivities over their work. After the celebration, only one staff member was left to handle the kitchen, which raised concerns about professionalism and the commitment to customer service.
Furthermore, in the past, I remember being asked to leave a review on a terminal after paying. However, this time, no such request was made. It made me wonder if the practice had been discontinued, and if so, whether customer feedback is being taken as...
Read moreEvery time I visit Ho Chi Minh City, I make it a priority to stop by Ippudo. It’s become one of my favorite spots, and no matter how short my business trips are, I always make sure to visit at least twice. The experience is consistently fantastic, and I genuinely can't get enough.
I usually order the fried rice and ramen, both of which are always spot on. What I love about Ippudo is that they’ve recently expanded their menu, adding more variety to cater to different preferences. Initially, the menu was quite pork-centric, which limited my options, but now they’ve introduced more chicken dishes, which is a big plus for me. This new diversity in the menu has definitely enhanced my experience here, making it more inclusive for those who prefer other types of meat.
They’ve also expanded their physical space, now having three floors to accommodate more guests. Despite the larger size, the service has remained impeccable. The staff is extremely attentive, always keeping an eye on the customers to make sure your needs are met without delay. It's refreshing to know that whenever I need something, someone is always ready to assist.
On top of that, they serve great beer, which pairs perfectly with their incredible ramen and fried rice. The combination of top-quality food, an expanded menu, and excellent service makes Ippudo a must-visit in Ho Chi Minh City.
If you’re ever in the city, or anywhere that has an Ippudo, don’t miss the chance to dine here. You’ll regret skipping it because the food and experience are truly...
