Specifically went to the effort to book this months ahead of time for a new year's eve stay during a few months travelling around South East Asia. We booked the room with the view of the bridge so we could see the fireworks. After turning up after a flight all sweaty and tired with our backpacks the guy at the desk told us that the hotel was overbooked because apparently they can't perform basic hotel admin like checking how many people have booked rooms. Cue us frantically trying to book somewhere for the night so as to not be homeless. We've stayed in sooooo many hotels and places on our travels and this is the first time a hotel has ever done this to us. He didn't offer any apology or advice on where to try and book instead either, just laughed awkwardly. The headache this just put us through is, trust me, worth avoiding if you can. Choose a different hotel - potentially in a different part of Phu Quoc to be honest because Grandworld is a tacky nightmare full of drunk...

I had a very frustrating experience at this hotel. Despite having a confirmed booking, I arrived to find that my reservation had been cancelled without any prior notice. On top of that, the staff was unable to assist me, as they could not speak English, making communication nearly impossible. I felt completely stranded and frustrated, with no clear solutions offered.
