Embarking on a culinary journey, my friends and I recently visited #JMT Korea Restaurant nestled within Grandworld Phu Quoc. With rave reviews lauding its authenticity, our expectations soared as we delved into the world of Korean cuisine.
Conveniently located in the heart of Grandworld, finding the restaurant was effortless. Despite its cozy ambiance, the intimate setting fostered a memorable evening among friends. The hospitable staff further enhanced our experience, ensuring we felt valued and cared for throughout our visit.
While the menu offered a satisfying array of Korean delights, we noticed it was slightly more restrained in options than expected. Nevertheless, it encapsulated the quintessential flavors of Korean cuisine. Despite the slightly higher prices compared to neighboring venues, the portion sizes were modest, which might not suffice for those with hearty appetites.
A highlight of #JMT Korea Restaurant was the freshness of ingredients and prompt service. Each dish arrived promptly, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to quality and efficiency. Though some dishes leaned towards the saltier side for our palates, they remained enjoyable overall.
A pleasant surprise awaited us with complimentary refills of kimchi and pickled radish, adding to the overall value of our dining experience.
Our group thoroughly relished our time at #JMT Korea Restaurant and enthusiastically recommend it to fellow food enthusiasts exploring Korean cuisine in Phu Quoc. Despite minor limitations in menu variety and portion sizes, the restaurant's dedication to quality, warm hospitality, and flavorful side dishes set it apart.
With an average expenditure of 350,000 VND per person, our culinary adventure proved worthwhile. We indulged in an array of dishes, including kimpad, grilled fish, pork belly, beef barbecue, and seafood tofu soup, each offering a unique flavor profile. Despite minor nuances, our dining experience at #JMT Korea Restaurant was delightful, reaffirming our desire to return for another taste of authentic...
Read moreWe had bad experience here few days ago and would never come back
-The food was ok. Fried chicken wings was crunchy, a lot of banchan and taste quite ok. The portion was big so we have to take away to bring home
-Service: staff seems don’t care to the guests, and not listening carefully. When I ask for more banchan, they brought me the bill? Not even say sorry just laugh and run away to bring the banchan for us. Other table ordered noodles and they don’t even understand, looks miserable.
-Atmosphere: if this is real Korean style, I’m fine with it. But cockroaches are never allowed to be appeared in a restaurant! One Korean family had to point it to the staff to remove it (and they left after few minutes). Still some cockroaches on the floor while we are having dinner
Disappointed was my feeling on that night. Tried first time 2 years ago , the food was not good but atleast service was ok. This time, nothings better even worse. May be good for Korean only, not...

This restaurant was a huge disappointment for me. While the portion size and overall atmosphere were acceptable, the food quality was far below my expectations. As a Korean who has traveled extensively and dined in many Korean restaurants abroad, I was genuinely surprised by how bland and artificial everything tasted.
The pork cutlet sauce was overly sweet to the point of being unpleasant, and the kimchi tasted extremely artificial — like it was filled with flavor enhancers or artificial seasoning. The doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), which is usually the heart of a simple Korean meal, was watery and lacked depth. Even the side dishes, which many Korean restaurants pride themselves on, were mediocre and did not taste fresh.
To make matters worse, I couldn’t even communicate my concerns to the staff, as none of them spoke Korean fluently. I understand this is a foreign country and that’s fine, but for a restaurant that markets itself heavily as “authentic Korean cuisine” and is run by a Korean owner (who wasn’t present), I expected more.
It honestly felt like the restaurant was focused more on marketing and buying good reviews than maintaining food quality. Most of the 5-star reviews don’t reflect the reality of the dining experience I had. It makes me wonder whether some of them were fake or incentivized.
As someone who rarely writes reviews — and only when truly impressed or deeply disappointed — I felt the need to share this so future diners won’t be misled like I was. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and improves. This place has potential, but not without serious changes in how the food is prepared and managed.
I truly don’t mean this as an attack, but rather as an honest review from someone who wanted to enjoy a taste of home while traveling. At the moment, this is not a place I would recommend to fellow Koreans or anyone looking for genuine...
