This Island is a must to visit n stay for a week or more. Today its my 14 days here and love every moment of it. I'm still staying here until next week but wanted to let you know the amazing of this place. Its important to pay the room that comes with front beach balcony Ocean view. I stay in L5 and love my room 5001 as have the view of all the beach, ocean n watch sunset every nite. Someday i don't go anywhere as just looking outside from that room on a rainy day is enough to relax me. The room is huge and i am very comfortable. love the every day buffet breakfast papaya, watermelon, pineapple, oranges, pancakes, slice bread, rolls, meat PHO, chicken, corn, kumara, eggs, salad, etc. I'm addicted to the PHO broth they so yummy. The kitchen girls are amazing 💖 I like them. Every worker is very helpful and they work hard to keep the hotel look amazing everyday. The room cleaning girls are lovely too as they make my room to how i like it. Mostly every day, i love the walking on the beach n swim in the hotel pool as water are so clean, n relax under those coconut trees. The hotel have it own access to the beach. A lovely man live in the restaurant at the beach front hotel gave us some coconuts n big knife and spoon, we so happy drink n eat the inside of the coconut. We met a few different people holiday here n becomes friends, go out eat dinner together or browse the island. While stay here, download the 'VinBus' app as the green bus is free to go anywhere here, eg. Airport, Grandworld, Love Bridge etc. We love to just hop on the free bus n go for a right to see where it goes, end up we get the see mostly the whole island from the bus. Must visit Grandworld is free to enter n some stuff you pay to do but most of it the view n the whole Grandworld free stuff is enough to enjoy. Wanted to do the Vernice boat ride but nite que line is so long that i end up browse around n watch the traditional Vietnamese story dance. I felt being in this island Phu Quoc is enough to enjoy a visit to Vietnam. Kingkong Mart is like a Costo + survenier shop, or like ABC store in Hawaii, if u not going to Hoi An for shopping than in the city here have so many shops for whatever u need. Thank you Maris Beach Hotel for making my stay very...

Asked house keeping to change pillows, which they did. Next day the smell increased on return from day trip smell was worse with front of the A/C vent dripping. Next day after being out most of the day the floors soaked and walls and Celling dripping with smell very obvious now and in areas starting to be visible turned A/C on after an hour wet walls floor and celling had gone but smell remained. It appeared it might be affecting our breathing as both of us had started coughing for no other reason. Decision to check out early and find other accommodation and forfit the additional 3 days that had been booked. On check out was asked why we were checking out, staff told mould in the room causing health issues. Staff did offer another room but decided as we had opted to seek other accommodation elsewhere. Looking around before leaving we had noticed that multiple leaks an mould throughout the building maintenance and cleaning do not seam to be a priority which is a shame as it has the potential to...
Read moreWe stayed here in May. For the price ($26NZD/night), it really is excellent value. The pros: The room had a partial sea view and size of room was good. Breakfast was also good with a lot of options. Staff were amazing. Location was good for restaurants, bars and massage. We hired motorbikes from the man next door 150k for 24 hours. Good bikes too. Now for the not so good: Our room had the worst smell in the bathroom. The hotel was good about it and moved us to another room. The pool was green for the first 4 days. While sitting at the pool, there is a strong sewage smell coming from the empty section towards the sea. The beach was really disappointing and this is not the hotels fault. There was rubbish everywhere. Bottles and glasses from the bar the day before were still there the following afternoon. There was a definite fishy smell coming off the water. I only swam in the sea once. I wouldn't stay here again, but was it value for money? Definitely. As long as you aren't coming...
