My experience at this place was unfortunately quite bad. Positives: -Host was helpful and tried his best to solve all the problems that arose. -Location is amazing if you want to be in the middle of nature. Negatives: -Wi-fi is weak and often fails -It rains inside when the rain is strong -Agressive dogs (in the resort and around) -No Grab bikes from here, only cars -No electricity a couple of times -No hot water for a couple of rainy days because they use solar power for that -Bathtub was dirty and stained and leaked to the floor -Cleaning was not careful -Mosquito net was dirty and had holes -Impossible to walk around because there are many aggressive dogs in the streets and surrounding properties -Construction noise everyday, starting at 7 in the morning until late afternoon -Loud music in the evenings -Bungalow has openings to the outside without net, so animals come inside and leave droppings. Definitely don't stay here if you dislike insects/geckos and specially spiders, because there are huge ones -Restaurant was closed (it's possible to order from a nearby restaurant with delivery) -Pool and sunbeds in bad condition Overall, everything was badly maintained...
Read moreRemote bungalows on tropical island. Costs are high on island compared to mainland. Pool looks nice until you realize cows visit there to excrete solid waste and drink. Found rotten fruit and pits while swimming. Expect to find giant lizards in your room hiding or scaling walls. No hot water for shower and low water pressure. Fight off mosquitoes when using outdoor toilet. Snails and spiders hiding behind toilet. Had to plead and beg for mosquito net. No air conditioner only fan. Limited fruit selection offered for meals. They should have wide variety of exotic fruits offered at meals, exotic fruit tasting events, farm visit tours, and fresh coconuts. Do not expect guests to go bartering and haggling to neighbors for their fruit. These services should be provided for the high cost paid to stay here. Maps inaccurate, roads inconsistent, walking paths random, and not easy to navigate with paper map. They should offer competent and highly sufficient motorcycle lessons for guests. Need to know how to drive motorcycle to get around island or...
Read moreThis is a backpackers delight and if you are prepared to rough it a little you will find excellent value for money. We were initially disappointed because there had been a mistake with our booking and the air conditioned room that we had booked was not available. Consequently we decided to just stay the one night and then move the next day but the hotel manager, a lovely young man named Khao talked us into staying. We ended up starting 13 days! If it wasn’t for his kindness and hospitality our experience would not have been as good|I have given it a score of 3/5 because the bungalows are quite rough and there are not a lot of services around. Breakfast is available but there is minimal choice. You can walk to a nice beach (Mango Bay) in about 20 mins (1.9km) and there are some decent restaurants 1-2 km away. There are scooters and bicycles available for hire if walking is not for you. Overall it was a good experience staying here and we did have some fun. The Ong Long village is quite rural but you will experience the real...
