I booked a month-long stay here. The on-site caretaker was lovely, but I had many issues, and dealing with the manager was a nightmare.
The first room, a wooden bungalow, had zero sound insulation—you could hear guests in the kitchen as if you were sitting outside.
The second room had a bathroom with no ventilation, making it feel like a permanent steam room. A floor fan ran constantly but did nothing to help. They had clearly tried to cover up mould issues by repainting the walls, but black stains were still visible on the tiles. When I requested another room, the manager called and yelled at me, saying I was annoying and should just wear slippers in the bathroom. I had to explain that breathing in mouldy air is toxic.
I was eventually moved to a room by the pool, which was better. However, the buildings are packed so closely together that there’s little personal space, and the pool was busy at all hours.
A large table near the pool was regularly used by all guests, so I assumed it was a shared space. But when I sat there with my laptop, the manager called and told me I wasn’t allowed to use it and had to go back to my room.
Midway through my stay, some business came up, so I asked the manager if I could leave early and she could decide when I leave and how much to charge me (I paid 9M VND for a month and the nightly rate on booking is 336k). After a lot of excuses, it became clear she wouldn’t help. She wouldn’t let me find someone to take over the room either.
If you’re staying just a few days and don’t mind these issues, it might be okay. But if you’re looking for a peaceful, hassle-free stay, I’d suggest...

PROS:
The lady who manages this place is friendly, accommodating, and hospitable.
The owner is communicable via WhatsApp and easy to talk to.
Rooms are spacious, clean, and neat. Facilities in the room are working perfectly.
Serene and quiet place.
Laundry service offered by the staff for 20-25k VND per kilo.
Motorbike rental is also offered by the hotel.
Airport service costs 250K VND, much better than using airport taxis that will charge you 400 K VND.
The room rates are usually affordable. No weekend or holiday rates.
CON: The LOCATION. More or less 30 minutes of driving away from the city centre.
Reaching the hotel from the airport takes 40 minutes +. Hotel is located in an alley of an alley, which is very typical of most "budget" hotels in Phu Quoc.
Nearby convenience stores, food stalls, restaurants, cafes are 15 minutes of walk away, 3 minutes of drive.
I don't recommend walking alone to reach the nearest establishments at night. Most roads are dark, lacking road lights, stray dogs, and surrounded by empty farm lands.
You can use Grab to go to the nearest establishments but it's another story to use Grab to go back to the hotel. Grab drivers around the area are choosy, snubbish. I experienced having my bookings cancelled multiple times just because the Grab fare is around 60 K VND to go back to the hotel.

Read moreI spent 1 month in this place and for 1 month I couldn’t sleep or relax at all… One of the worst experiences ever!
There were dogs coming in and out of the place every day and night. These dogs had no owner, they were not castrated - they were aggressive, territorial, running, barking, growling the whole time, including at night.
Our bungalow was next to the fence - so even when the main gate was closed, they would come in and out through the fence. I remember waking up one day crying, frustrated and upset, wishing that my holiday would be over soon! I did contact the management several times but in fact the situation didn’t change. It was totally hopeless.
If not the dogs, then it would be the Russian guests who would make noise at 1 am, speaking loudly, drinking or watching TV with high volume in the middle of the night.
To sum up, it was a total nightmare - a combination of sleepness nights, a zoo with wild dogs and a Russian colony. Please stay away from...
