Mui Ne is a beach side resort area about 260 kms from Saigon city. We were there 2 years ago and it has changed significantly. The most noticeable change is the influx of Russian tourists. It would not be an exaggeration to say that 90 per cent of the tourist number in January would be from Russia. This is understandable when you have long Russian winter. We actually met a Russian lady who was working for a Indian restaurant on Vietnamese wages to get away from the cold.||||We booked Ngoc Bich resort through the internet. Comparatively for a family of 3, a beach bungalow 10 metres from the beach for the price of 85 USD per night was a good deal. We were surprised when we were making enquiries in Saigon, 85 USD should have got you a lot more in Mui Ne.||||The outlay of the place was good, there were minor renovations happening but nothing to hamper or disturb your holiday. Couple of points I found immediately noticeable was the condition of the room, the quality was sub standard, there were layers of dust and the room stank. The smell was coming from everywhere, the pillows, bed sheets and the towels. In fact it got to a stage where my daughter dried her face on her t-shirt rather than the provided towels. When we notified them of this issue, they had already understood this problem but blamed it on the weather, saying that due to a week of rain they couldn't do the laundry properly. This is a ridiculous excuse, an establishment of this size and price should have a proper laundry facility.||||There is no valet, once you check in you are given your keys, led to you room. No one to carry your bags and no one to explain the hotel outlay. The bungalow was nice size with good storage space, but needs a room safe and a new TV. ||||The breakfast was very limited ; one drink, one noodle dish or egg and bread. Fortunately the service was reasonable and after awhile quite friendly. I have read that the staff can be rude, but you can understand this, when you see how some guest treats them. Shouting at people can never lead to coherence and treating people as idiots never endear you to anyone. ||||One thing we found very unusual was the receptionist kept hassling us about payment. She kept insisting that we pay the full amount on the second day of our twelve day stay. This is the first time, where a hotel or resort has ever asked us in our 30 years of travelling. Later we found out many tourist move out to a cheaper place that offer the same thing. The receptionist was the family member of the owner. I guess she was worried, we might move to another place. ||||The shining light of this place is its location, it is centre to everything and the beach is magnificent, even though there are only a limited deck chairs for the guest numbers. If you try to get to one by 9 am, you are already too late with the ubiquitous hotel beach towels hanging like capes off the deck chairs. Swimming pool was excellent and always clean.||||Overall, our family enjoyed our stay at Ngoc Bich and Mui Ne but on researching the local guest accommodations, you could get the same, except for the beach frontage or no sandy beach for...
Read moreWe stayed here for only a night. First of all, it seems that this resort is suitable for backpackers as it is at above average. We at first did not want to choose this resort. Howerver, The number of tourists going to Phan Thiet at that time was at the peak and all of the other resorts were fully booked. So we had to choose this.|But at my day to this resort, I was depressed by the car park here. It is an awful one. So it is definitely not the choice for family traveling by car or coach. And I think that the receptionist area should have been expanded. However, the receptionist is quite polite and friendly.|While walking across the resort area, the garden is quite lovely. And finally, I reached my room 326. Opening the room, the decor is well-organized. Though, the floor is extremely dirty that it had sand everywhere and ants were by the minibar and the floor and I had to borrow a broom and an aerosol from the cleaner woman. As well as the bed is not comfortable for me. It was hard nearly as rock that the next morning I had a backache.|Getting through the beach and the pool as it was great because of kite surfers club, then the thing happened. After our lunch, the floor of the side that face the beach is horribly smelly and dirty. I called the service and they did not respond until 15 mins later. Then the worst thing: at night, the guests from room 327 opened a party that was really loud for us to sleep at night. And we were frustrated that you guys did not at the receptionist at night to respond any situation from that noisy guests.|And also the breakfast is not various, too. Just some meals and drinks. That is all!!!!!?????|We were disappointed at your staff's responding. I had a tough night here. I recommend this for someone who are accustomed to loud noise here. Not recommended for family. Bad service! Never come...
Read moreLet’s start with the positives: The rooms are large as well as the bathrooms. The pool is great and surprisingly underutilized. The view of the ocean is small, but lovely with some nice lounges chairs available to watch the sunrise. The owners are friendly, and the design of grounds is pretty and private. Unfortunately there are more bad things to say. The rooms need to be renovated. The bathtubs are old and stained. The grout around the bath is yellow and dirty looking. There was mold on the bathroom tiles that was easily wiped off but is evidence of how bad the housekeeping was. The rooms are not cleaned every day. They will clean if you ask, but you should not have to ask. Because they don’t clean the rooms, you run out of toilet paper, shampoo packets, bottled water, and towels. Again, if you ask they will bring them but they seemed annoyed. The towels are old with bleach stains. Our sheets were also stained. They may have been clean with old stains, but who knows? The beach behind the hotel is unusable due to erosion. You can’t even walk down to the water line because the steps are gone and you have to climb over sandbags. The food in the restaurant was tasteless and needed more seasoning.
I want the family to be successful, but having lived in Vietnam for several years I’ve learned that the Vietnamese don’t understand the concept of spending money to making money. If they just spent money renovating and updating each bungalow so they looked fresh and new, they could charge a higher nightly fee. Instead they rely on a lower cost to help sell rooms that really aren’t very...
