We arrived in Mui Ne one Friday afternoon having checked in at a resort. Due to many locals arriving from Ho Chi Minh our hotel was fully booked the next day. Hence we picked a nice hotel close by which was almost empty. After having checked in we realized that this hotel only scored 4,4 on booking.com! Why this crazy disparity from what was before our eyes?||We absolutely cannot concur will many of the comments made by previous guests.||Although reception not exactly is fluent in English, they are friendly and able to comprehend what you communicate. The hotel is newly renovated. We stayed in room 108, which had two comfortable double beds. The large room had a fridge and a great working aircon, one big window and a lot of pleasant lights and sockets for our gadgets. Since we travelled a family with two children, we appreciated crystal clear TV reception with a couple of children’s channels. Neither in Singapore nor in Malaysia had this been the case. Rooms were cleaned every day with new towels, and bedsheets changed after three days. ||Wi-Fi measured 16 Mbps and was stable.||There is an excellent pizzeria close by (turning right from hotel) if you are in for a change from Asian food. They accept credit cards (pizza/pasta: around 150 000 dong).||Conclusion: We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone for value for money.||||Note: ||Since resorts normally will not allow you to pass through their grounds, you can access the beach via a pathway approximately 300 meters turning right out from the hotel. However if you say you will use the resort’s restaurant they might let you in. Also there are several ATM’s along the road that unfortunately have a max of 2 million dong.||Vietnamese red wine “Vang Dalat (Export)” is worth a try (80 – 100 000 dong...
Read moreSo my partner and I decided to check out 2 days early, not because we didn't like the hotel, but because we didn't like Mui Ne. On our 2nd day here we 'attempted' to go the beach. Everytime we tried to lie our towels down we were told to move as we weren't staying in the resort. We were told we could rent a sunbed though for $10 each per day. No thanks! This happened all the way down the beach as it is literally all owned by resorts. When I told the receptionist we wanted to check out the next day I said I would pay for the room there and then. She accepted but then after payment refused to give us our passports. I had to ask around 8 times until I was actually demanding to have them back that she finally gave them to me. She did photocopy our passports so I'm not sure why they didn't do this anyway. Other than that though the hotel is great. We were upgraded to a triple room which was huge and clean. The bathroom was huge too, although did have a smell of sewage/ drains when we checked in. It's definitely good value for money here, I think the hotel would be even better if they convert there terrace into a small pool as it's a...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights in a double room during the tet-holidays, therefore paid twice the price, but all (budget/mid-range) hotels did so. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff weren't notably friendly nor unfriendly, basically not that interested, but then again we did not need/ask much of them. ||The Ham Tien area is not that interesting to explore, but there are many restaurants within walking distance (we recommend 'Rung Forest' because of its oustanding atmosphere and food!). One downside is that the hotel does not serve breakfast and there aren't many restaurants around that do. Best option is a Baguette with 'La vache qui ri' cheese from a local vendor. That's cheap too :).||Rented a motorcycle at the hotel for 200k for the day, which is great for exploring the fairy spring and white sand dunes (about 30km far). After reading all the reviews we skipped the red dunes, but you pass them on the way.||On one night a Frenchman occupied the small booth in front of the hotel, baking waffles and churros - definitely try...
