Update: I’ve always enjoyed this café—great food, friendly staff, and good service. However, my last visit left me very disappointed because of the parking incident.
The parking area was packed, but I found a spot and left my bike there, securing it with the wheel lock. The spot was directly in front of a nearby souvenir shop, and the shop staff saw me park without saying anything. After getting my coffee, I wanted to visit a shop to buy souvenirs. But I was shocked to find my bike moved into the middle of the road! It was covered in dirt and scratches. It turned out the shop staff had moved it, which was both rude and completely unnecessary.
While I still like the café, I can’t recommend the souvenir shop to anyone. The actions of the staff there were unacceptable and showed a lack of basic respect. —————————
Shadow Cat is one of my favorite street cafes for breakfast and lunch. I love their vegetarian spring rolls, omelets, blueberry cheesecake, and chocolate cake!
Don’t miss the coffee here; I especially enjoy the iced black and coconut coffee. The egg coffee and affogato are also delicious—they're like a two-in-one treat: dessert and coffee. Highly...
Read moreI am editing this review because I feel like it's important that I emphasise just how GOOD the egg coffee is here!! We have tried egg coffee across Vietnam (including the top rated ones in Ho Chi Minh) and this one absolutely destroys the rest of them. It's not even a close competition. It really is that hidden gem hiding in a quiet beach town. If this guy made his coffee in a big city he would be the undisputed champion of world class egg coffee.
My girlfriend and I are travelling Vietnam and this is the best pho and coffee we’ve had in the country. If you’re Australian and you try the Ca Phe Sua you’ll feel like you’re drinking smooth Australian coffee with more of a strong, delicious kick to it. The egg coffee is so good! It’s like a coffee dessert! And it had a picture of a cat in the milk! The chicken in the pho is tender and delicious in a really good broth! The staff are...
Read moreWorse service so far in Vietnam. Went in lunch time after walking all morning, really looking forward to a refreshing drink. Checked the menu and ordered the drinks straight away, one Saigon Green and one gin and tonic whilst we made decisions about food. The beer came after a few minutes so we ordered food. After 10 minutes I asked about the g & to and was told it would be 5 minutes. The first lunch dish arrived, after another 5 minutes my food arrived. The g&t arrived 30 minutes after ordering with no apology, wasn't served separately so far too much tonic for my taste. A second beer was ordered at this point but a reminder was needed before it arrived. Also noticed that tables were not wiped down after being cleared. To add insult to injury when the bill arrived we were charged for 3 beers not 2. The food was OK hence the two...
