About a 3 hour trip from Saigon and situated on the beach along with every other hotel and "resort", Sunny Beach provides you with as close to luxury that you can get in the small coastal getaway town.||With two medium sized, very clean and pristine looking pools, extremely easy access to the beach, very large buffet style restaurant that can house in the hundreds, and rooms that will offer a good view of the resort gardens and beach, this resort will suit most of your requirements when getting away from the hustle and bustle of the major cities.||The rooms are spacious and offer a balcony view of the gardens, pool and to an extent, the beach which, at night can be a calming and comfortable audio to sleep easy. One thing to mention is that the rooms are quite dated though and the floors can get quite dusty. The bathrooms are of Asian standard with the toilet inside the bathroom with the bathtub doubling up as a shower. I'd stay away from actually taking a bath in the tub as it can be quite dirty with the water and the tub don't get cleaned very well. We also found the bed with dirt stains everywhere as well but it is what it is. ||One complaint, the room service and help from the staff was quite appalling. We arrived at 10:30 in the morning knowing that are rooms weren't going to be ready which was fine. We were told 11:00 and by 11:30 they still weren't ready, another half hour. We decided to go for lunch and came by 2:00, still not ready. Another 20 minutes, one room was ready and with 7 of us sharing one room for the time being got quite crowded. Also, don't try calling room service, they never answer. We tried calling reception and they said that they'll get room service to call back, they never did. We kept trying for 30 minutes until we finally gave up.||To conclude, a comfortable stay with old but spacious rooms with a good view, all the standard amenities, two very clean and spacious pools, easy access to the beach but less than helpful service.||I'd say the positives outweigh...

Read moreDisappointed how they met us during check-in. The reception staff requested our passports for checking my reservation and holded they at himself. I asked to return the passports back to me, but received negotive answer. The hotel holds passports all of clients during accommodation. Only after called to main hotel manager the man offered to pay a deposit 100 USD instead passports holding. I said I need to go to ATM for cash withdraw and asked to return our passports back to us, but the man refused me again. I was forced to raise my voice and only this to help me to get the passports back. After I paid the deposit and got a room. As for hotel, it have well-groomed territory with green garden, 2 clean swimming pools, many palms. The beach is not intended for swimming, there is popular the kitesurfing. Breakfast is good, has a lot of dishes. The room is clean, but shower doesn't have a support for hose and this hose is short, if your height is higher than about 160 cm you will not be able to wash your head without squatting and one of your hands will be busy holding the hose. Also be ready to hear your neighbors, cause walls of the hotel are slim, you will be hear their steps, voices, water from shower, etc. I would be ready to left 3.5 strong stars to this hotel, but the spoiled check-in still has a negative precipitate. P. S. During checkout the manager came to us and explained the situation. I adding two stars to my...
