Terrible excuse for a homestay. Nobody welcomed us. Our tour guide from the trek Vu (who was excellent) went into the kitchen and got us tea. A chap came to show us to our room which was not cleaned after the previous guests. There were no towels or toiletries. Sheets had hair and stains. We went back to the front of the house to find someone which wasn't easy. When we found the guy who took us to our room we offered to show him the mess he put us in but he declined and offered to move us to another room. We looked at two others that were only slightly cleaner. We brought this to his attention and he said, "I know". We chose to take that as a poor interpretation of what he really meant, which couldn't possibly be that he knew and chose to sell those rooms anyway. We took the better of the two rooms. We tried to move one of the two beds away from the wall so that we could access the bed from both sides, and found a flood under the bed. By this stage we couldn't be bothered moving again. We were tired after a trek. The offer to help cook dinner was a non-event. Breakfast the next morning was rubbish. Nobody from the property spoke to us the entire time. I think these people just missed the point...

We went in for a homestay meal preparation and dinner emtertainment activity with our tour group, and utmostly loved it. The host lady and her children were utmostly kind and very friendly, involving us visitors in their typical Virtnamese eveving meal preparation in their kitchen and their family dinner. We all loved it and them. Definitely would recommend if one is interested in getting to know what the trafitional Vietnamese family’s everydays life is about, how they live, amd how kind...

People very friendly and location was good. Breakfast, dinner and lunches served were very good for the trekking we did over the 3 days. Dinner was also served happy water, which kicked off a good night of conversation with fellow trekkers. There is cold beer, wine and water for sale at the homestay. If you are a light sleeper maybe take ear plugs to help with village noises overnight.

Love, love, LOVED! My stay here as part of an overnight trek through Sapa. I had a private bungalow which was clean and had an ensuite bathroom + toilet. There’s a couple of kids who are lots of fun and the family can’t do enough to make you feel welcome. If you need something, they will call to have it delivered or the town is a 3 minute walk away. Beautiful views and delicious food

Lovely bungalow with a stunning view of the rice fields and an ensuite bathroom. The room is clean and well-kept. I asked for a heated blanket, and the host was very accommodating. They also make the best ginger tea, using fresh chunks of ginger and lemongrass—not the cheap powdered stuff. The pho served for breakfast was absolutely delicious—the best I’ve had in Ta Van!
