GLACIER´S LAND D.M.C — Local services in El Calafate

We bought tickets to a Perito Moreno Glacier tour through this agency because they offered us a good price for the tour with a guarantee that there would be explanations in English (that was non negotiable for us, as we don't have great Spanish). After boarding the bus the next day, the guide told us that she does not speak English, and therefore there would be no explanations in English. When we insisted that the agency told us there would be English explanations, she told us that she doesn't know why they said that because she just doesn't speak English. By this point we had already lost reception and could not contact the agency to complain/ask for help. The guide tried to find us a different tour with English explanations, but they were all full. She ended up explaining as much as she could (between my broken Spanish and her broken English), and we don't have any complaints about her, but the agency really shouldn't have told us that there would be an English-speaking guide when...

Very bad. We book there the bus to Ushuaia. We are waiting in the night for our Transfer, phone per WhatsApp, and she tell US everything OK. Nobody comes. Nobody go again at the Phone. Later in the morning she tell us, that we had to check the transfer to the busstation by ourself. This was not the truth. They don't want to refund us the money back. We go to the tourism-office, they want to commit for us, that we get our money (ca. 120€uro) back. And one thing more; In the office they tell us that to pay with Visa cost 35% more. Never hear IT in Argentinia...

Hemos gastado mas de 500 dolares en esta empresa con excursiones y con todas genial. Con su guía explicando todo, por donde y cuando menos en esta última. El último dia fuimos a la excursión del Chalten. Nos levantamos a las 5,30 para las 7 estar listos. Nos vino el chofer a buscar y pasamos a buscar mas gente. Cuando llegamos al chalten el chofer llama a alguien, pensando que era el guía, y resulto ser el numero del restaurante donde ibamos a comer. Con esta sorpresa, nos dice aquí llego mi trabajo y que teníamos que bajar y apañarnos, dicho en otras palabras. Obviamente surgieron quejas con dos personas mayores de 70 años y yo con un bebe de 8 meses que no sabiamos para donde andar. El chofer desconcertado tambien porque no habia guia ni sabia que hacer. Nos llevo hasta delante del restaurante donde ibamos a comer pero no supo que mas decir. Ademas de tener que elegir un menu en el restaurante, donde no teníamos ni el menu que habia ni sabiamos que platos cocinan. El chofer no hacia mas que llamar al restaurante y no contestaban al telefono que le dieron. En fin, no hay organizacion de nada. Aqui estamos andando por el pueblo, sin saber que hacer con un bebe de 8 meses porque a las 12 hay que estar en el restaurante cuando abran para elegir menu...no podemos irnos muy lejos del restaurante. En fin, la peor excursio. Que he hecho sin duda. Os aconsejo alquilar un coche y hacerla por cuenta propia. No gastareis...
