My daughter and I unfortunately got caught in the rain last Saturday without an umbrella. When we entered the store â admittedly a bit wet and scruffy â we were met with a look of visible disgust from one staff member, who was wearing a denim overshirt. While two staff members were dressed in denim that day, I trust youâll know who Iâm referring to.
After warmly assisting a group of older ladies (who did have umbrellas) and recommending they head to another store for complimentary champagne, this staff member disappeared to the back, muttering something under her breath as she walked away.
In contrast, I want to acknowledge the other staff who did make an effort to assist us â their professionalism didnât go unnoticed. While my daughter felt too uncomfortable to continue shopping, I did try on two pieces. Our intention was to shop and explore sizing, but the experience left a sour impression.
To the snobby assistant who looked down on us â you know who you are â itâs a real shame. Weâre grown women living in the real world, not high school. Just because we didnât fit your idea of the âperfect shopperâ â likely because of our modest dressing â doesnât make us any less worthy of respect.
Our money spends the same as anyone elseâs, and we came in with the intention to shop. Instead, we were met with judgment and attitude.
Dissh, you need to do better. Train your staff to treat every customer with dignity and respect, and to understand and embrace diversity. Not everyone walks in looking like a fashion influencer â and that shouldnât be the standard for decent...

They didn't until I had to follow up with Claremont store again (Claremont store customer service is amazing). I did an over the phone order with this store on Monday 24/02, stressing to them I needed it before my holiday which was on the weekend and was advised they would ship my order that day. I asked if it was express and they said yes. I had to follow up with the store asking for my shipping number Wednesday 26/02 and had been told they were going to send it out that day. I live on the other side of the country...I messaged again telling them I needed it by the weekend for my holiday and was advised they would send it Monday. The response was unapologetic and said, "As it was posted express it should arrive prior to the weekend". I won't be getting my order until the 4th of March, which is when I am away, and have texted them that. This is really poor customer service, and the blazei response from staff...

She specifically travelled into Brisbane city to visit this store today. She felt so unwelcome and that the girls were snobby. She said the girls did not care and were more interested in chatting to each other. She said she felt like Julia Robertâs in Pretty Woman, being dismissed completely. She went there willing to spend money and ended up leaving with nothing. Either get better staff or train them to actually treat people like people. Get off your high horses. Yâall work...
