I ordered the entree which was a nice surprise. The spicy pork nduja Croquettes with citrus mayonnaise were flavoursome, cooked perfectly, the texture melted in my mouth. A Chef's skills are a reflection of the fine art of getting the flavours just right in such a simple dish. I've tasted a lot of croquettes in restaurants and they are usually underdone, cold or frozen and thawed. I commend the Chef for presenting this dish with perfection. I ordered the side of greens, which is another such simple dish. Once again the chef had the balance of lemon and oil just right with the blanching of snow peas and beans just right. Over blanching can leave greens soggy. The greens were crunchy but still soft enough to be able to taste the freshness and the flavours. To accompany the two dishes I was served a prosecco and the staff were friendly and helpful attending to my table. To finish the night I ordered the Apple tart which was another masterpiece from the chef. The presentation was visually appealing. Again, the chef has impeccable skill with combining the flavours. An enjoyable dinner in the infamous James street precint .Quality and value for money.

Me and my partner went here for breakfast. I ordered cappuccino and this is the worst coffee that i ever had. Temperature was room temperature. I didn’t order ice cappuccino…😅haha and so watery. I think the coffee shot was channeling and didn’t notice. I couldn’t feel any of coffee tasty. Banana smoothie was sour…I don’t know what they put it in. Banana pancake was okay. Mushroom dish was terrible. I really like to try mushroom dishes, this is the worst mushroom dish ever. Food wasn’t really warm. Really disappointed! When we are fixing up the bill, she was getting phone call and showing up the bill with one hand and give us a Pos machine to tap. I don’t think they want to work here. If they have zero star, i’d give zero star rather than one star. I don’t know about lunch and dinner but breakfast is not really good. I don’t recommend here for breakfast. Under staffed! Everyone is on rush… Interior is nice. That’s it.

We dined at 12:00 on a Wednesdays and elected to sit outside. It was very pleasant, even thought he day was 30 degrees. There were a few tables outside, with a few inside also. Inside looked to be comfortable and formal; outside was comfortable and a bit more relaxed. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The menu was broad and tempting, pleasing the vegetarian and the carnivores amongst us. The drinks list was comprehensive, with a nice balance of wine, spirits and beers, with plenty of non-alcoholic options as well. The drink arrived very quickly and the food arrived at about the time that I expected. The serving sizes were satisfying and the food was delicious, with attention to detail obvious in each dish. The staff were friendly, professional and attentive. The pricing was what I exited to pay in this location - on the high end of the scale, but not outrageously so.

Really nice looking restaurant which is what drew us to eat breakfast here. Upon entry and line up to be seated we automatically felt very uncomfortable as the staff member at the door was quite rude and blunt. She stated we need to check in with the check in app, which we had already done and she then continued to rudely say ‘Well I need to see it’, we were happy to show her of course it was just unexpected as she didn’t ask to see the two couples who were before us in the line. Table service was very awkward and felt rushed and the man taking our order did not seem happy to answer any of our questions about the menu. My friend asked if a certain item was available to order for breakfast he said ‘yes of course it’s a restaurant you can order anything on that menu’ and then after that she asked for something else and he proceeded to laugh at her and say ‘you’re looking at the wrong part’. As if he didn’t just tell her everything on the menu was available… very confusing and almost condescending. When our meals were brought to the table my friend was given something other than her meal that was ordered, which is not an issue at all we were very understanding and we waited for the correct meal to be brought out. After this small mistake they treated us differently and were kind and seemed happy to serve us, which is nice but felt very fake as it would have been nice to walk in and be greeted with the same attitude and treated as an equal! Overall would not eat here again or recommend it to anyone, the menu is very bland and not worth the discomfort you may experience from the staff member’s attitudes. Can definitely find food better with much...

Came down from Melbourne for the weekend with friends and had the worst experience ever. After being recommended this place we thought we would head down... We were advised lunch was served after 12pm and we were there around 11:40. We were happy to wait till 12, but it was odd we weren’t even allowed to order drinks, or maybe we were but never got table service till I asked for a waiters attention at 11:57. Even though they assured us they would come back at 11:50 to take our order… Pretty ridiculous, I’ve had my fair share of dining at places that have breakfast - lunch - dinner service. But this system at Harvey’s was the first bitter start to the afternoon.

After we ordered, my friend got her drink and had to advise them they brought the wrong drink. And instead of apologising the waiter turned around and had an argumentative tone and responded ‘that’s what you ordered’ she then corrected him twice repeating back the drink she requested. He rolled his eyes and walked off after he returned he just put her drink infront of her without an apology or even acknowledgment for their wrong doing.

After our meals came out, we had about 4 instances where the waiters kept coming over asking to clear the table and we kept stating we weren’t finished yet. So all in all this whole experience left a bitter taste in our mouths and I would definitely not recommend Harvey’s. The older guy that work’s there definitely needs training with his customer service. The blondish girl with an accent however was very pleasant, but unfortunately even with her amazing service the whole experience...

Today around 12:00 pm , I planned to have lunch in Harveys and I parked at the spot just next to this restaurant. It shows 2 hours parking limited on the lot . Then I went to the restaurant and thinking should I buy some grocery and coffee before I have lunch . So I walk pass the restaurant and I see a guy with orange vest writing an infringements notice on my car . I went to talk to him , he said I shouldn’t leave the restaurant if I park here. It’s ridiculous I come to have lunch and he even said if want to have coffee I can just have here but not there . Harvey’s is one of fav restaurants in the area and I have been dining here few times . But I don’t need someone telling me when and where to have my coffee and lunch and being stalked . I know it’s nothing about Harvey’s but the orange vest guy said he employed by the premises owner so he has right to do that . Dinning is an experience and I believe most customers drive car and park there , so if there’s a parking issue I wish Harvey raise it to the premises owner . I observed that guy at the spot more than 10 mins , it was peak hour and more than 5 cars park there after me . He didn’t come to check each car customers but just pick on me . If there’s rules , it should be applied to all . Then I believe no one would spend money in that...
