My wife and I fancied a quick trip to Broome and had read plenty about the falls day trip so we decided that we had to tick this box.
It is a large amount of cash to part with. We have never paid so much for a day tour in all of our travels, we are pleased we went.
The company is fantastic! The prompt polite correspondence, the check in calls about collection times. The fancy climate controlled bus. The outgoing vibrant personalities of all the staff. The abundance of information shared. The plane, bus and boat were all modern and practical.
The staff Sam, Hayley and Ben all made the trip exciting and memorable with their shared energy and zest for life.
The tour was great, very relaxing and it makes for a loooong day especially with all the sun. We were collected at 0530 and returned at 1600 to our accommodation.
The landing at Cockatoo island is rather thrilling. If you’re uncomfortable flying you might want to close your eyes for a bit.
Be warned There is a lot of waiting around, between planes, bus rides and boarding boats. This can become exhausting especially in the heat. Post bit trip their is a pool which can be used at the pub. Take a towel and have a splash.
I won’t spoil the boat ride. It’s hot. It’s peaceful and it has some excitement here and there. My suggestion would be take appropriate clothing, long sleeve linen, an insulated drink bottle, zinc/screen and snacks!
Water and Soft drink is offered plenty. No tea or coffee which would have been a treat for all that money paid. Personally I felt there was not enough food offered. Morning tea- apple sweet biscuits and some nuts. The lunch was lovely. Wraps and fruit, or ploughman board. Some extra fruit or healthy snacks in between would have been a nice compliment. When spending big dollars I do not expect to be left hungry. My wife is GF and her meals were very light. Regrettably we had to eat potato chips from the bar post tour as that was all that was available.
We sat at the bar for an hour after the boat trip waiting for the buses and planes to leave. This was hot and finished us all off.
The scenic flight is a pretty spectacular way to start and finish!
All in all. Pretty good. Is it worth the money.... mmMmm it’s a lot for a plane ride and a boat ride.
Improvements... Lots of waiting around! A looong time on the boat. Lack of healthy snacks, coffee and towels should be offered for a swim at the end. Tell people to...
Read moreWe did the Horizontal Falls on 11 of August. Half day afternoon tour on MOX-HDPMM-BME. Amazing experience, great people in operation, we truly had a wonderful time. The flight from Broom on the seaplane, the power both through the Horizontal Falls, the slow cruise on Talbot Bay, the yummy lunch and swim next to the sharks of course in separate encloses. We received very good commentary while on the speed both, crusing throught the Talbot Bay and around the swimming pool. But wasn't any commentary on the plane. We flew over amazing area and would be nice to learn a bit more. Headphones 🎧 would be great idea for two reasons; commentary and in between music to reduce the noise level. We had them on plane in Kakadu, and on seaplane in Kununurra. At the moment would be nice to get one more item on your list to take with you. Noise reduction earbuds for the flight. We are still very happy that we did it and will highly recommend...
Read moreDisappointed we booked through the markets at the Broome Information centre. We were mis informed and we are very Disappointed as it cost our family of 5 lots of money. We didn't mind paying but not for a neap tide with no water which we were told there would be constant water flowing through. The menu options were also changed menu for the children and they went without food for the whole trip.Do yourself a favour and don't book through Go horizontal falls at the information centre at Broome Markets. There is another company that offer better options I suggest you try them before this one, we...
