We visit Thai Restaurants every time we travel around Australia because we enjoy Thai food. Being that I am Thai, and regularly visit Thailand, naturally I was attracted when this restaurant advertised āauthenticā, however, this couldnāt be more inaccurate.
Our waitress had no knowledge of the menu when we inquired inside, a rude older gentleman spoke to us abruptly and simply stated all the food is available and we have Thai cooks so itās all authentic.
We ordered some entree, bbq pork and fish cakes, both in honesty were pretty good.
We then waited an hour before getting our meals. Basil stir fry and Larb Moo both were disappointing.
Basil overpowered by Coriander, watery sauce and overall bland in flavour possibly the worst I have ever had. Larb Moo was average - all I could taste was salt and fish sauce, no sourness to it at all - and not many herbs to complete the dish.
After we finally received our meals we asked to order some take away, two more main meals and two desserts for family back at our accommodation.
When we finished and went to pay they told us they had forgotten about the takeaway order and they will begin making it now.
Absolutely shocking.
This was one of the worst Thai experiences in a long time. Not to mention it was extremely overpriced.
If you are thinking about stopping by, my recommendation is head to Subway next door, itās more dependable and better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreProbably the worst Thai meals we've ever had. If you have enjoyed authentic Thai food then you may be disappointed here. For starters we had "fresh" chicken springrolls which we saw were taken out of a deep freeze. No flavour at all. For mains we had a Pad See Ew (thick flat rice noodles) with extra chilli and a Ginger stirfry with jasmine rice. Both meals were with chicken. The extra chilli in the noodle dish was non existant and the ginger stirfry had no ginger flavour at all. In both dishes the chicken seemed to have been cooked separately, possibly boiled, and then added to the dish at the end as it lacked any flavour either. Service was lack lustre and ambience inside was what you would expect when sitting in a busy, noisy kitchen. Overall an extemely disappointing dining experience. We were also charged corkage for 2 people when only one of us was drinking. Avoid Ginreab Thai if you enjoy genuine Thai cuisine.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I ordered takeaway pad thai, basil stir fry, sticky rice and veggie spring rolls and requested them to be made vegan. Double checked with them that they understood what this was and specified no egg or fish sauce. When I got the food home and started eating, after a few bites noticed egg in the pad thai and taste of fish in the stir fry. Called the restaurant and credit to them they realised their mistake and delivered a replacement of the pad thai and basil stir fry but not replacement sticky rice or spring rolls which had been contaminated as we had put them on the same plate. Iām sure it was an honest mistake but very unpleasant as a vegan. Thankfully we are not vegan due to allergies but if this was the case then someone could have gotten seriously sick or worse particularly if they had an anaphylactic reaction to the allergens. I would recommend they state on their menu which items can be made vegan and any other allergens and staff receive appropriate taking orders and preparing food communicate customer dietary requirements with each other and receive training to prevent any harm coming to...
