I spent a couple of weeks in Broome over two visits, this is hands down the best breakfast in town, tried a couple of other places but none had the diverse menu and quality of food and presentation as Chi Mayi. Japanese Pancakes (meat and veg options) and Frittas (corn and cauli) were a big hit. every time I ordered the pancakes people would come over and ask what they were. all enjoyed in a lovely garden setting in Johnny Chi Lane. Thanks to the staff, especially Fabric and Emma for looking after us during our stay!! Do yourself a favour...

Had coffee here this morning, 6/8/24 . The setting is lovely but there are far better places for coffee . Paid 17$ for an iced chocolate and iced latte. The latte was small and the chocolate watery. The service after ordering was fast but my experience at the order counter was coloured by 2 people who just had to make significant changes to their order and an age later finally put my order in. I should have walked....the dirty spoon also didn't help.

Lovely garden hidden in Johnny Chi Lane. Should be comfortable to dine here in the dry season. The smashed avocado was salty with lots lots of feta in it, and the Hollandaise sauce was a little too thick and greasy. The sourdough was a little dry and could be toasted more too. The roast mushrooms were yum, the food was generous in portion and well priced. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall a lovely experience to dine in here.

I’ve been going to chi mayi for years now, always enjoyed their breakfast for the serving size and menu options. As well as the atmosphere, dining outdoors under the trees. However, on Saturday May 31st I had the most disappointing meal ever.

If I’m going to have a meal out it’s usually something I’m not going to prepare at home. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. My partner and I were only table waiting for food at the time. It was 8am and I expected to wait some time for my food considering what I ordered. It was no longer than 7 minutes until the plate was brought to my table. The reason why I’m writing this review is I’m hoping it will reach the owners of the establishment, I think it’s highly unsatisfactory to use packaged products from a supermarket. Instead of fresh waffles made in the kitchen you purchased waffles from Cole’s and instead of fried chicken you used a boxed brand of chicken stripes. If you were going to use alternatives at least notify me when I’m ordering because if I could have purchased these items and made my own breakfast at home I would have. But even the. I think I’d op out for chicken strips and prepackaged waffles and actually make the real deal!

It’s simply not fair. My expectation was only based on what you advertised on your menu and I did not receive that.

The coffee was good and the barista was very friendly. I could not bare to complain to her and create any guilt on the day therefore I really needed to write...

✔️ Cute spacious courtyard ✔️ Central location 🙈 Coffee VERY average blah food, we had poached eggs on sourdough. The bread was good The portion ok The service to table , lazy, slapdash attitude, red head girl, no napkins, no knife & fork. The other girl from barista area was good and cheerful ( we were 1 of only 5 people at that time of the morning)

The food- Eggs done in vinegar, ( their approach to poached) unfortunately this white washed out any flavour or depth in the eggs. Nicely presented though...

So overall- Very so so

This was our 2nd visit to get a...
