We recently stayed at the waters edge holiday park. Being a big 4 park we were confident that it would be a good stay however this was not the case. Some things were annoying were as others were not safe! I have listed them all for follow up Issues with cabin 43: - Air con leaked out the front of the unit. - Tap in the bathroom sink wouldn’t turn off. - Plenty of water damage on almost every wall. - One hot plate (of two) didn’t work - Electrical short in the bathroom light that affected microwave and fan. - The doona was horrendous. Cheap plastic blanket from Kmart. Our friends had a more modern looking cabin but had the same issue with the bed and bedding and their air con unit made so much noise they couldn’t use it at night or it would wake their baby. General park issues: Broken ‘shop counter’ in playground Broken slide in playground Both of these were plastic and brittle from the sun. The slide was broken where the little bums actually slide down!! One of the pools (the kids one) was green! And they had banned use of the jumping pillows I tried to raise the issue of the air con and leaking tap with the park who didn’t seem overly phased but said they would send someone over, however the person never came.

First of all the staff are accommodating..My first sight was under a tree at the back of the park, dropped stuff on the roof all night. It i was also stuck at the back of the park which is pretty dingy. They happily moved me to the front of the park on a beautifully grassed site very close to the Esplanade. I'm delighted to spend another 3 days there. Generally the park is older and rather than picturesque it's functional. Obviously there are some nicer spots than others. It's very close to the bridge to the surf beach and shops. I took my campervan to the all day paying bay close by the water shops and bridge. Now I've got this new site I probably won't in future. It's a mixed bag here but most of the parks in Lakes seem to be older.

Powered caravan grass site. To be honest yes we've stayed at better but this caravan park was clean and tidy. Our water tap was under repair so we had to use another one, no big deal as when we stayed it wasn't busy. There was no concrete slab for us but we take our own mats anyway so that was ok. When you're travelling around you have to go with the flow. If you expect all parks to be 5 star all the time, then expect to pay for them. This was convenient to everything, close to shops and the lake was across the road. Its a little tired looking but was very budget friendly and the important things are great, clean amenities and lots of hot water 😊

We stayed at the park for Australia Day it was the worst experience here is the letter I wrote to complain to Big 4 head office they informed me that all parks are run independently and that the park has been notified of my complaint I still have not heard anything to date from management of the park.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Big 4 Caravan Park - Waters Edge. As a loyal customer who has never lodged a complaint before, I feel compelled to bring to your attention the numerous issues that have marred our experience at your establishment.

Firstly, I would like to highlight a significant discrepancy in your advertising. Both on your brochure and at the jumping pillow area, it is clearly stated that pets are not allowed. However, during our stay, we have observed numerous instances of large dogs in cabins, off-leash throughout the park, and even in the pool area. This directly contradicts the advertised policy and has resulted in an unsanitary and uncomfortable environment.

Furthermore, the amenities at the park were shockingly dirty. Broken playground facilities and a pool contaminated by dogs drinking from it were particularly distressing. The lack of proper maintenance reflects poorly on the overall standards of cleanliness and safety at Waters Edge.

The issue of multiple cars per site was also concerning. While I had assumed a limit of one car per site for safety reasons, it appears that this policy is not being enforced. This has led to a chaotic and potentially hazardous situation within the park grounds.

Lastly, it is disheartening to note that the current management, who also own a barking dog, seems indifferent to these issues. Our group, consisting of four other vans, shares the sentiment of disappointment and disgust with the current state of affairs.

In light of these numerous grievances, I kindly request that your head office addresses these concerns promptly. The current 8.2 rating advertised on your website does not align with the reality we have experienced, and I believe a more accurate reflection would be closer to a 3 star rating

I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to hearing from you soon to discuss the steps that will be taken to rectify these issues and ensure a more positive experience for future...

Probably the worst Big 4 I've stayed at. Still a bit baffled how it is listed as a Big 4 given lack of facilities for the kids.

Their jumping pillow was deflated due to an insurance pricing issue and in the interim they have just locked the area off. The playground is in a terrible location at the front of the park right on the road. Also, when we went the plastic has started cracking so badly that it had to be taped off so no one would injure themselves (The whole playground needs replacing). Their pool has a little toddler wading pool to the side which was green the entire time we were there and staff would just mention 'Dont go in that pool' as they came past. There was a games room but everything was coin operated except the ping pong table.

Aside from this, the sites are terribly small and you get packed in like sardines with no room for the kids to play unless there are empty sites. There is a main road through the caravan park which goes from the reception to the back gate and a lot of sites and cabins border it. Family's had a great opportunity to repeatedly teach toddlers about road safety as the amenities were on the other side. I heard a lot of 'Watch the road!' or 'There's a car coming!' or 'Stop! Kids, get off the road's. Added a huge level of unnecessary stress for a number or families.

The amenities were also poorly maintained. Soap dispensers were empty for days in a row, there was diarrhea splotches from someone who didn't make it to the toilet in time over the concrete path that lead to the amenities. Despite this being reported to the staff it was just left there to dry out in the sun while unknowing guests walked through it.

Overall, I would not recommend this park at all and feel it should actually be stripped of any affiliation with Big 4. I can only assume it is still afloat because it is located close to the beach and...

I don’t normally leave ratings but this needs to be said As a big 4 member I was very disappointed with this park is far below big4 standards As a family we book Big 4 parks so the kids have things to do. Upon our arrival the playground was closed due to the slide broken the jumping pillow was also closed and a notice on the gate saying it has been closed since December 2023 Than walking in to the games room and everything was switched off The pool had dead cockroaches in it and was unwelcoming to swim in The the baby bathroom was locked and the code given wasn’t working While the amenities were clean they are dated and most of the taps need nuts on them as they kept falling off while trying to use them Then on day 2 of our stay to have some one from the park approach us and say to us after my wife let them know we weren’t impressed that every reason we booked this park was close . The gentleman approach us with a racists remake about a group of people how were to stupid to understand that the slide was close so it was just easier to close the whole playground

So in summary every reason we booked this park wasn’t working or not available the park is under maintained and should not have a big 4 name attached

While the park was located in a great location and cheaper than most we were left disappointed with this park and won’t be back to this one The lady in the office was nice and helpful with things to do and places to go But overall impression was...
