I was their regular customer, it feels bad when a regular customer is forced to write the bad review about the restaurant especially because of the Indian manager's behaviour. I'm strictly pure vegetarian and ordered everything vegetarian takeaway. Everyone were enjoying the dinner at home until I found a big chunk of chicken in the Laksa as displayed in the photo. Pad thai had a seafood smell in it and that was enough to ruin everyone's dinner at home.
Next day I went to the restaurant with the left over food to show them what terrible mistake they have commited to someone who is pure vegetarian by religion. The manager was very casual about it. He didn't even apologise properly, his way of approach was extremely rude. I mentioned him that I am your regular customer and this food never tasted like this before. He kept on arguing with me. I'm a hospitality manager and I have managed a restaurant before in my life but never have I ever spoken to any customer like the way he spoke. He offered to replace the meal or refund for the items which where non vegetarian. This doesn't do any justice to customer. I politely told him that I can also claim for a full refund as this was not an ordinary mistake and adding his rude behaviour especially made it even worst. In reply he told that don't teach me my job, I know what my job is. I have given you refund for 2 items. You can go. Good bye.
I wish the restaurant owners to take a strict action against that manager who doesn't deserve to be a manager. Even their their staff standing around were stunned by his behaviour. He simply didn't understand that this mistake ruined my entire family's dinner and only compensating me for 2 items doesn't do any justice. While leaving I just told him that you just lost your regular customer forever. This is a good place which needs a friendly manager with good customer service. Restaurent Owers if you are reading this please consider this very seriously.
Funny part: initially he was showing me a piece of tofu saying that this not chicken. Dude, this is the first time I am having...
Read moreDuring the school holidays, we took a trip to Lakes Entrance, and being the typical foodie I am, I had to local Asian restaurant. Lucky for us, we stumbled upon Nick’s Thai Restaurant (@nicks.lakesentrance), which had just reopened a week ago after relocating near the water. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and welcoming, with cozy indoor seating and outdoor tables offering beautiful views of Lakes Entrance. Whether you’re popping in for a casual lunch or a laid-back dinner, the vibe here is just right.

My top pick? Their chicken wings! These aren’t just your typical wings—they’re Vietnamese-inspired, caramelized to perfection, and absolutely finger-licking good. The Pad Thai and Chicken Fried Rice were also standouts. Both were served piping hot, with that rich wok hei flavour that makes stir-fries so irresistible. And let me tell you, I’ve never had a Pad Thai this loaded with prawns—I counted nine large, fresh prawns in mine. Talk about getting your money’s worth!👍🏻👍🏻
The service at Nick’s is fantastic, too. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and if you’re unsure what to order, their store manager, Jeff, is always around to offer recommendations and make sure you’re looked after.
So, if you’re heading to Lakes Entrance anytime soon, definitely check out Nick’s. Whether you’re craving a quick bite or a leisurely meal, they’ve got something for everyone. Tip: They’re popular with the locals, so I’d recommend making an online reservation to...
Read moreNicks was near our hotel so we decided to get a bite to eat. Upon entering, we were not greeted for over 5 minutes and then decided to walk up to the pay area and ask where we could sit in which time we were told someone would seat us. The restaurant was full; however, they did have some empty tables in the main area, but since we did not have a reservation we were eventually seated outside, and that was fine since they had several heaters to keep us warm. It took about 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order which was two entrees and two miso soups with some tap water. Welll after about 25 minutes the two entrees came but no water or miso soup. My husband and I finished the entrees and waited for another 25 minutes before my husband walked up to the front to ask for the soup and the server said "oh you didn't get your soup?" We waited another 15 minutes to get one miso soup since my husband cancelled his order. The much anticipated soup which led me to Nick's in the first place tasted like hot water with awful tasting seaweed, tiny bits of tofu and a few green onions. I forced myself to eat the soup with only the tofu and left most of it still in the bowl. I also have to mention that there was a party of six sitting outside as well and the waiter came to ask if everything was to their liking and completely ignored us, I'm guessing because our bill was not as big as their bill . Also, we never got our water. Very...
