With a warm and friendly ambience, in an equally friendly town, this family run French restaurant is a must visit at the Lakes Entrance. You are made to feel special and your needs are catered to if you are willing to be open and communicate with them. We had a great evening and an unforgettable dinner at this place. My wife is a vegetarian, so she called the restaurant about an hour before our dinner to discuss her options and the chef surprised her with a delectable vegetarian dish, not on the menu. The fish soup was heart warming and the saffron was a delightful and delicious surprise. The prawns with cream and pernod was absolutely soaked with flavours and the freshness of the prawns ( done to perfection) came through very well, Pernod in the sauce was something new for me and was perfect for the dish. My wife and I did not skimp on the desserts and we were really happy about it. The peach melba was refreshing and rich at the same time and the creme brulee was warm and filled our hearts and left us wanting for more. The portions are quite generous too! Its a BYO, so be prepared or the food works is just a hop-skip and jump across the road. Please book ahead as they are usually full, but once you are in, its an absolute treat!

Came for dinner on Friday night around 6.30pm. We were worried that we did not have booking but luckily for us, the restaurant was not busy during winter months so we could easily get a table. We ordered seafood chowder, catch of the day (duck fish) and calamari as entree. Food was served in a reasonable timeframe. Seafood chowder was nice and creamy with lots and lots of chunks of seafood so it was great. We could not even finish the seafood chowder as the portion was quite big. Catch of the day duck fish tasted great too. It was fresh and great seasoning. Calamari entree was cooked just enough so it was not chewy with beautiful salad and yummy dressing. We were so full but of course we could not say no to dessert. We ordered sticky date pudding to share. So glad that we did. The pudding was soft, airy but yet rich in flavour. It was perfection! Staff was friendly, professional and very attentive that checked in with us on how everything was going throughout the dinner. We would definitely be back if we stop by Lake Entrance again.

We dined at this amazing restaurant on Saturday night December 16 2023. We booked ahead as we knew it was very popular and we wanted to secure a table. We were greeted by very friendly staff. The service was top notch. Fast friendly and very professional. Staff were very attentive very friendly and were more than happy to assist with any questions. I ordered the oysters kilpatrick for my entree and partner ordered the bruschetta. The oysters were amazing. The bruschetta looked delicious and my partner throughly enjoyed it. For our mains I ordered the Seafood Chowder and my partner ordered the Fish and chips. The Seafood Chowder was unbelievable. Omg it was so good. So fresh and I could have had another one lol The fish and chips were so good. Not too oily and fish was fresh and very tasty. Sea Shanty is an amazing little restaurant and is a must if you are visiting Lakes Entrance. A big thumbs up for everything, food, service, price, ambiance. We’re certainly coming back!

Don’t Go here! Absolutely disgusting customer service here! I made a booking for 2 adults and 2 kids over 2 months ago online. On the evening of the booking I called the restaurant 3 times to say we would be 10mins late for a 730pm reservation. No one answered any of those times and after 3 calls u simply left a voicemail. On entry at 740pm a female staff accused me of not previously confirming the booking in an attacking tone of voice saying she had called me 5 times that afternoon. I said I have had no calls. She asked my phone number which she confirmed she had on file. But I’m sure that most prob she had rang the wrong number. I then showed my mobile phone call history to show no calls received. The way she spoke was utmost rude and attacking. My wife and I were just standing there dumbfounded with our young kids to be spoken to like that. We said then we would go somewhere else though clearly she was never going to sit us down at a table even though there were some tables spare. Not a sorry there must be some mistake or anything like that. They may have good reviews for the food but I hope this helps someone else to consider to try elsewhere. We went to Nick’s Thai and the service and food was completely the opposite. Simple rule is you cannot talk to people let alone...

Sea Shanty is an amazing seafood restaurant that offers a fantastic dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff, and the charming nautical decor will transport you straight to the seaside.

The menu at Sea Shanty is an absolute seafood lover's dream. From perfectly cooked prawns to fresh and flaky fish, every dish is made with the freshest ingredients and bursting with flavor. And if you're not in the mood for seafood, they also offer a great selection of vegetarian and meat dishes.

But what really sets Sea Shanty apart is the atmosphere. The cozy and intimate space, combined with the stunning sea views, creates a truly magical dining experience. And the friendly staff make sure that every customer feels appreciated and well taken care of.

And don't forget about the drinks! Sea Shanty offers a fantastic selection of wines and cocktails to pair with your meal. The wine list is particularly impressive, with a great variety of both local and international options.

Overall, I can't recommend Sea Shanty enough. The incredible seafood, charming atmosphere, and friendly staff make it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a special celebration. Five...
