I originally left a review noting that the meal felt a little expensive for what I got and that while the fish (flake) was cooked well and the potato cakes were delicious, the chips were overcooked and dry. I also mentioned that the service was friendly.

Since then, as there aren't many options in Hay, NSW, I’ve been back twice and had a completely different (and much better) experience both times. Everything was cooked perfectly – crisp, fresh, and hot – and the portion sizes were noticeably bigger. Not sure what happened on my first visit, but it's great to see the consistency and quality improve.

Great classic takeaway shop that feels fresh with genuine customer service. After driving all day to get to Hay, the convenience and friendly service were very welcome. They took care with my meal and offered a few customisations. The food was all fantastic. I had a burger with the lot and the salad on it was noticeably fresh and tasty. The dim sims were meaty. First time customer. Ordered dinner for the family. Advised of 45 min wait time and a call to mobile if food ready early. Returned to pick up - not ready. After another 20 min wait they realised food had been sitting in warmer. It was only because I asked 3 times and wondered why some locals who had ordered 20 mins after me were getting their orders that I realised that it had been overlooked.
