Saltbush Motor Inn — Hotel in Hay

Unfortunately, the service over the phone is so shocking. The lady working there was very defensive when my wife nicely asked her about booking online, which she had trouble doing so. The immediate response in a rude tone was “well it should be working its a brand new website.. are you sure you are doing it right?” My wife explained that when she clicked on the room it didn’t register and the lady responded with “well of course it wont work there are no rooms available”. She sighed on the phone and called my wife a “young lady” when she is 38 years old. Its a shame. I’d booked through them before for my staff to stay when travelling interstate, but as of today, I will no longer be doing so UNLESS if the lady working at the reception desk grows up and starts treating customers with respect over the phone. If she cant do so, she should find a new job that does not require her to be front-facing a business. I hope Saltbush Inn takes this feedback constructively. Thank you. The Saltbush Motor Inn offers extraordinarliy high quality country town accomodation. It's fair to say this operation can not be faulted. Rooms are vast, fresh and spotlessly clean with all amenities required for a comfortable stay. Beds and bedding seem very close to brand new and really comfortable with crisp white sheets and pillow slips. Abundant bath towels, hand towels and face towels all perfectly presented. The manager Julie is tremendous. We stayed over the Hay Cup 2022 weekend and the Saltbush was full to the brim. Julie was totally unflappable catering to a seemingly constant flow of requests, adjustments and general needs of an enthsiastic and fairly excitable guest list. Julie and family are the consumate hosts, and this should not be taken for granted as these days it seems all to rare to find high quality service at the level offered by the Saltbush management.
