A frustrating dining experience for my hubby's post birthday celebration. First I had to find my name on the reservation list. Then we waited over an hour for the entree. Also, the waitress serving our entree got completely distracted by incoming customers. She plopped our dish on a random table, welcomed the customers, then completely forgot about us (and our entree). Ordering a glass of water required a 1 hour wait time (no joke), and involved us having to make 4 separate requests. Regarding the food, our duck soup with noodles was served bone dry. But overall we can't really complain about the cuisine which is reasonable. We understand last Saturday night was busy, but too many simple things went wrong with the service and this affected our overall experience negatively. Update: Came today and food arrived in no time. This time we ordered: pan fried pork and chives dimsum, steamed chicken feet, combination bbq meats, and beef noodles. All were yummy and was on our table in no time.

Update: Came back here today for lunch. Food were tasty, we had Cantonese braised beef (a bit on salty side), combination roast (pork belly and roast pork) and fried rice. The first two came out quick but the rice came out much later when the rest got cold already. I did complain and manager asked if I just want the rest heated. I declined because well then the rice would get cold next and we're hungry. They gave us $10 voucher for it but please note customers are not after vouchers/discounts, they just want to eat and have a good experience and not get annoyed.

I have ordered through Hong Kong Chef numerous times. Today I placed an order through Menulog. The order didn’t arrive but said delivered. I then contacted the Resturant to find out that the food never left. This was almost an hr after it was meant to be delivered but it was still sitting there. I was informed they were busy and it just had been made almost an hr after it was meant to be delivered. Menulog gave me a refund but said it would take 10 days to receive it. Hong Kong Chef said I would have to pay again to have cold food delivered as Menulog issued a refund. As I don’t receive the refund for 10 days they wanted me to pay twice. We quiet frequently buy take out through Hong Kong Chef. We spend a bit of money with them weekly. Both staff members I spoke with were quite rude also.
