Acland Court Shopping Centre — Local services in Melbourne

We were appalled at the parking at the Acland Court Shopping Centre! One hour free parking if you shop at Coles is plastered all over their parking notices so because we were going to shop at Coles we drove in. We were totally unaware that the fine print says if you stay a nano second over one hour you will pay the full parking fees from the time of entry. This is outrageous, the Coles is a poorly laid out, badly stocked Coles and it took us the best part of an hour to wander around to find what we needed and realise that there were things we were looking for that weren't available. For our bother we were charged $8. Never, never, never coming back to this shopping centre. Next time we are in Melbourne I will head to other supermarkets in nearby locations or go to the Woolworths across the road in Acland Mall which has way better stock, is better laid out and quite possibly has some parking available for customers. I am solely reviewing Care Park, which is the company that handles the parking at the Acland Court Shopping. Parking machines and personnel are a disaster. In the last 6 months about 8 out of 10 times the machines had a problem. Coin slots jammed or don't take bills. Personnel sent me from the 1st floor to "try a different machine on the ground floor!". Once they gave me a credit ticket which it is not the correct way of fixing the problem. Their personnel with the excuse of not being on site sent me several times to their website for a refund. To get the refund I must disclose personal information including residence address, credit card or bank account details. This is totally abusive and manipulative. I had enough. Unless I go exclusively for Coles that parking is free I am not parking...

We often visit the Acland Court Shopping Centre directly opposite the route 96 tram super-stop terminal. As well as a 3-level car park, it has a Coles Supermarket, Cellarbrations outlet, Medical Centre, Pharmacy, Kitchenwares Store, Nook Jewelry, Vodafone Store, cafes and eateries. There's also an interesting public artwork in the atrium with a number of features (e.g. models of the No 12 St Kilda Tram, Luna Park rides, skateboarders, buskers and a man boating etc) that capture some of the past and present characters and stories in the making of what St Kilda is.
