They will never see my money again. Please check the other reviews too. Most of them praise the size and price of meals, but the staff behavior is poor. Poor management, poor staff behavior.

Follows my case. Group of 3 tourists, when seated I asked if I could pay with my credit card. My friends showed theirs too. The only restriction was No American Express. Later when checking out, they refused to split the bill in 3 cards, but they split in 2 cards. (?) The manager explained that the staff is too busy to split the bill and said the same happen over the other bats in the area. Well. Seems the staff is not able to deal with many guests at the same time. Also, the manager compares this place to all other in the area, so there is no reason for you to waste your time there. I was told that there are notices in the menu regarding the No Bill Splitting policy. So they expect you to read carefully all the menu before deciding to consume there. The manager said that there are wall posts informing the policy. So it will be your fault if you don't read all signs at the walls before deciding to seat there.

Anyways, if you agree to be blamed by every situation might occur, feel free to try. But make sure to pay in advance if you are not ready to pay for your friends.

The experience showed me that you can't expect support from the manager. Staff is polite but the manager comes to your table ready to fight. A furious "Pay and leave behavior".

Beverages 3 of us consumed are, one Coca-Cola, a glass of beer and a glass of wine.

I do not recommend this...

Disappointment is becoming the norm when you live locally and frequent an establishment, you notice the subtle pleasantries which leave you feeling welcomed and have you recommending to friends and family slipping away. Is this venue under new management? What was an enjoyable and reliable staple on the St Kilda dining scene, has become increasingly unfamiliar. From untrained staff, over fried appetisers to removal of daily specials. Not being a penny pincher, yet more calorie concious, the one healthy dish on the menu that could be shared "Was not available" in combination with lack of specials, one could only feel that you were paying more, for a few items available on the menu with substandard service. Is the fact that Post-Covid Award Wage is being paid for local labour, opposed to below award for backpackers who have historically ran the venue, the driving force behind gouging your regulars? I am all for supporting local businesses, but somethings got to give. Restuarant prices for Pub Grub and either pestering, or non-existent service takes the cake. With many competitors in the precinct shutting up shop, one would assume regulars could expect the same standard which La Roche was renowned for, yet the difference is astounding for those who aren't just in St Kilda for a day trip. This is the second time I have left the venue feeling rather underwhelmed, the first I put down to an 'off night',. "Trick me once, shame on you. Trick me twice, ...

Allergen Warning !

I came here for breakfast with my dogs last week. I ordered food and said I would order a coffee after eating and let the waiter know I am allergic to nuts. After finishing my food I ordered a small strong latte. My coffee was brought out and tasted funny. I thought it might by a soy latte. I asked the waiter if it was a soy latte. He told me it was an almond latte. I told him that I had already explained I am allergic to nuts. He then had the nerve to ask with an attitude 'isn't soy a nut?" He took the coffee away and said I would be refunded for it.

I felt a reaction from the nuts starting, so I gathered up my dogs and started leaving so I can drive myself to he Alfred Hospital. The waiter then stops me and says I have to pay for my food.

This is seriously ridiculous that he not only gives me something I am allergic to knowing I am allergic to it. Gives me attitude and questions me about my allergy but also tries to stop me and make me pay for my food when I am trying to get myself to hospital.

I have had to take time off work to recover from this. Food Standards Australia was contacted by the hospital who then contacted me. Food Standards Australia passed my number onto LaRoche for them to contact me but I have heard nothing back.

I have received no contact or apology from this restaurant.

This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior...

I visited on a Friday night around 7:45pm with a friend. It was quite busy, almost full inside but a few tables outside. We sat outside undercover from the rain and with heating. It was really nice because there's no cars on that road just trams. We were served quickly and ordered the sweet potato fries with aioli ($14.50) and a large pizza half BBQ half margherita (normally $25 but $17 on Fridays). We wanted pizza so we were really glad we ran into a deal! They have good value deals every day of the week. We were required to pre-pay for our meal, I'm not sure if that's because we were outside or something. They had a really large menu which was great, I didn't look at the other items but the pizza section had a good range of vegetarian options. The food took a while to come out, I think we waited at least 30 minutes. But at least it was hot when it arrived. Both the pizza and sweet potato chips were really large portions so keep that in mind. The pizza was very cheesy and the chips were very salty, which I didn't really like but my friend did. They had live music inside that sounded quite loud which is not my cup of tea at all, but from outside it was the perfect volume and kept us entertained. Overall I recommend coming here, but check out the daily deals first to make sure you get one that suits you!

Have heard about them for serving some great drinks and parmas around Kilda. Got a chance to visit them at their bigger and better venue now at Acland St. Fancy a pint? Looking for a superb selection of delicious cocktails or fine range of wines to choose from. in relaxed and happy surroundings, @laroche have you sorted. Had one of my best Saturday nights recently here, their pizzas are superb - smoky and light, with just the right topping-to-base ratio. Inside, the restaurant is grand and bustling, in the best way, you will love their extensive parma menu, definitely coming back for their Parma night, A huge plate is what you get with delicious flavours. I had fallen in love with their Arancinis as I took the first bite, they are beautiful round balls of deliciousness.  Made with arborio rice, filled with traditional flavours, crumbed & deep fried. For a fancy-schmancy night out every now and then – The cocktail menu is what you should try here. Their cocktail menu is innovative and ambitious. Try from Espresso martinis to delicious margaritas! P.S- They have a huge beer garden which I missed on due to rains, calls for a second visit soon ;)
