Fish and Chip Shack — Local services in Melbourne

Ordered dinner last night from this place as our ‘normal’ shop was still on holidays. Fried flake was good, potato cakes great but oh boy the grilled flake was so small (it fitted easily on a bread and butter plate) it was a disgrace to call it a piece and to charge full price for it was very poor. $46.80 later and I won’t be going back to this shop, overall it was very disappointing. I also see below the owner has replied and apologised for the size of the fish, unfortunately, it’s okay to say your sorry after you’ve been paid but surely when you were cooking the fish you would have realised it was too small to charge full price for, it is too late now to be sorry as fish that size shouldn’t have been served up (for $8) to start with or you should have cooked 2 extra pieces or even explained to us when we picked it up but there was none of that so really you’re not sorry at all, your just sorry that I put a post up to let other customers know to check their fish before they pay and walk out...

Bentleigh Seafood Surprise 👍🐟 I like to thinknof myself as somewhat of a Fish n Chips expert so I am brave enough to try new places. Came here for your standard Sunday footy fish n chips sesh. These guys did not disappoint. The food here was very tasty. I can tell the oil was fresh. Fish was great quality. Fried to perfection. The burger was awsome. Exactly what you want from a burger with the lot. 🍔 dim sims slightly over done but nobody is perfect. The shop is well presented. Very clean. Acknowledged fast. Served fast. Good menu variety serving all your favourites. Got the family pack which was great value at 36$. Also tried the standard burger with the Lot. Got some extra goodies as well. Food was made fast. Packed well in uber bags. Friendly service. Easy to find. Easy to park. Good value for $. Would return and recommend Well done to the new management just got to keepl...

I ordered from here, based on reviews I read, and I really wish I hadn’t. The potato cakes were undercooked and obviously frozen. The fish batter was disgusting and soggy, and nothing crisp about it, and the fish did not taste it all fresh. The chips were exceptionally soggy and inedible, and the onion rings were so tiny, and I’m sure they were frozen as well. Save your money and don’t order from here.

UPDATE- Store owner has replied with an untrue comment about the food. Other reviews bear out my dissatisfaction with the quality of food, as do reports from friends who have bought from here. No, Mr. Store Owner I did NOT have it sitting around for a long time before it was eaten ... try less than 5 minutes! Your batter was the soggiest I have ever tasted and food really...
