Wifey and myself recently had had a late leisurely Sunday breakfast at Bentleigh Café located at 504 Centre Rd, Bentleigh. I believe most people would rate Bentleigh Café as a 5 Star Café. I loved the European Shop Front and the friendly ambiance of Bentleigh Café. The car parking spaces on Centre Road were quite big. The entrance on Centre Road is wheelchair accessible. We sat outside – people watching. There were 3 outside tables with seating 4 people and 2 tables with seating for 2 people on the Centre Road side. . I noticed a number of dogs on a leash while their owners enjoyed Bentleigh Café hospitality. Bentleigh Café staff are extremely attentive. I was wondering how we could place an order. Wifey giggled and moved the menus to the Side of The Table. A waitress immediately noticed we were ready and came took our order. While wifey was enjoying Smoked Salmon Benedict – poached eggs , smoked salmon on toasted English muffin with Hollandaise Sauce, the owner brought out another knife making it easier for her have bite sized portions maintaining her dignity and independence. It was delicious. I had the Grilled Chicken and Avocado Bowl with Tomato, Cucumber, , Avocado, Mixed Salad and a Sesame Dressing. It was magnificent. Wifey said “We’ll come back again after I agonized over what to choose.” It all sounded so delicious and seriously yummy. Wandering through the café, there was a stylish Cuckoo Clock and more seating. The bathroom was small and compact for Able Bodied People. I don’t believe the bathroom was Accessible . There was no hand rail and I believe would have been a very tight fit for someone using a mobility aid such as a wheel chair. There is a gorgeous patio out the back for private bookings, perfect for romantic Spring Days and Sunny Summer Surprises. There were a number of steps going from the café to the patio. The closest Accessible Toilets as afar as I am aware are located at Bentleigh Library or Near the corner of Jaspar and Centre Roads. While Bentleigh Café is great place for most people and gatherings, I am doubtful that it is suitable for people using Mobility Aids such as a Motorized Scooter or Wheelchair because of Space Constrictions. I am sure the owner would welcome them and accommodate everyone,. As a former Disability Support Worker, I would not bring a group of people using Mobility Aids to Bentleigh Café. The quality of food, attentive service, and friendly ambiance makes it worthy of a Five Star Rating. Bentleigh Café was desperately unlucky not to receive 5 stars from me. I truly emphasize...
Read moreGreat, another new Cafe in Bentleigh to try and must be great because of all the 5 star reviews, however our experience was disappointing. Maybe they were just having a bad day but it was 30 mins before could drink coffees (flat white and decaf soy latte). 15 mins waiting for them to be made (pet peeve when takeaway orders placed after yours are made first) then 15 mins before could drink because scalding hot! Also menu average, 8 hot dishes all with eggs, that's not good, I'm a vegetarian I don't eat eggs so husband had healthy breakfast (or as spelt on menu heathy), poached eggs, slice avocado, baked beans, tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms and one piece toast so asked if I could have same but swap out eggs for hashbrown. The Cafe has a really sweet courtyard out the back and some seating out the front. They need to put a hook on back of bathroom door too, to hang your bag, as that's another pet peeve of mine, having to put your bag on manky bathroom floors. Also one table for two out front is a safety hazard so they need to look at the chairs for this. 13.4 called in to get takeaway coffees (flat white and decaf soy lattes). Note their large size is large! Some Cafes in this shopping strip try and pass off a...
Read moreWe dined in for brunch at the Bentleigh Café, it is a beautiful venue. The atmosphere is brilliant, there dark toned woods with a bit of orange and green, all of the colours are beautifully complimented which creates a warm yet relaxing environment for a coffee and some brunch.
There is music, but unlike other cafes it isn’t overpowering so you can still comfortably hold a conversation. Perfect for relaxing catch ups.
The coffee was made very well, they cater to alternative milk options as well as having gluten free bread available. They are extremely happy to cater to people as needed to facilitate the best possible experience.
The food was presented beautifully, we opted for the Big Breakfast and a Ham and Cheese Toastie, both presented with care.
There’s a toilet available in the cafe and an alfresco area out the back if you prefer the outdoor café experience.
Staff are extremely friendly, they are very personable and very dedicated to provide a great experience. They will check in on how everything is and are happy to receive feedback regarding your experience.
Overall it has been a great experience and I highly recommend this café to anyone who needs a new spot to have a nice coffee/...
